Abstract

Making use of Schrodinger equation and Relativity theory,we find that Schrodinger equation is the Maxwell equation for the free photon.Through building up a state function of free photon,we find that it not only can be used to describe the quantum properties of free photon, but also express the classical bulk properties(electric and magnetic property;interposition and diffraction).

Derivation of Schrodinger Equation from Maxwell Electric Equation

Sami Abdalla Elbadawi

Maxwell's equations can be used to derive Schrodinger equation. The polarization term is used to find the energy term. One can use plank quantum hypothesis beside Einstein mass energy relation to find a useful expression for Maxwell electric equation. Replacing the electric field intensity by the wave function one found Schrodinger quantum equation.

On the first quantization and quantum diversity of photons

Boris N. Chichkov

Quantum theory of photons based on the first quantization technique, similar to that used by Schrödinger in the formulation of quantum mechanics, is considered. First, scalar quantum mechanics of photons operating with the photon wave functions is discussed. Using the first quantization, the wave equation, the Schrödinger-like equations, and the Dirac equation for photons are derived. Then, vector quantum mechanics of photons is introduced, which defines the electromagnetic vector fields. Using the first quantization, the Maxwell equations for photons in a magneto-dielectric medium are obtained. Because the photon’s electric and magnetic fields satisfy the Maxwell equations, all that is known about the classical optical fields can be directly transferred to photons demonstrating their quantum diversity. Relationships between the scalar and vector quantum mechanics of photons and between the Dirac and Maxwell equations are analyzed. To describe the propagation of photons in dispersive media, modified Maxwell equations are introduced.

Photon wave function, electric and magnetic fields. Relationship to the electromagnetic vacuum.

Constantin Meis

A photon quantization volume is defined, an intrinsic physical geometrical property of a single photon state, showing that photons are not point particles and constitute a particular case in the standard particle model. Based on the quantized vector potential amplitude a photon wave function is established satisfying Schrödinger’s equation and normalized with respect to the quantization volume. The single photon electric and magnetic fields in vacuum are calculated independently on any external cavity parameter and they are proportional to the square of the frequency. The electromagnetic vacuum derives straightforward from the photon vector potential function and has both classical and quantum representations. The photon wave function is directly related to the electromagnetic vacuum states setting the fundamentals for understanding entanglement.

Maxwell's equations and quantum mechanics

Alojz Suhadolnik, Tilen Suhadolnik, Aljaž Suhadolnik

The free electron is undoubtedly an electromagnetic particle. However, the fundamental equations describing the free electron in quantum mechanics do not account for its electromagnetic properties; instead, they are based solely on its mechanical characteristics. Such treatment is insufficient for a complete description. In conventional quantum mechanics, the free-electron Schrödinger equation remains unrelated to Maxwell's differential equations. By considering the electron as both a quantum mechanical oscillator and a quantum electrodynamic oscillator, it becomes possible to derive the free-electron Schrödinger equation directly from Maxwell's equations. This article presents a novel theoretical approach to treating the electron, providing a simple and transparent derivation that, to the best of our knowledge, has not yet been published in the literature.

The Schrödinger Wave Equation

Abstract Just as it is impossible to derive Newton ‘s equations of motion in classical mechanics or Maxwell ‘s equations for electricity and magnetism (EM) from first principles, neither can we demonstrate the validity of the Schrödinger equation approach (or any other equivalent one) to quantum mechanics a priori. We can, however, make use of early quantum ideas and the connection between the classical wave equation and the photon concept to help in understanding its structure.
