Abstract

Quantum key distribution is one of the most primary application in quantum information. Quantum cryptography of Slot extractive sercret key is a new coding system that uses the time of photons arrived at de- tector as the quantum information, and use the slot of detected photons selecting the key. It is also analysed that principle and the main characteristics of the photons-coding system ,and the experiment scheme and the key problem is introduced.

An Invention of Quantum Cryptography over the Classical Cryptography for Enhancing Security

Payal P. Wasankar, Pranjal Soni

Quantum Cryptography is based on the use of subatomic particles (photons) and their intrinsic quantum properties (photon polarization) to develop an unbreakable system. It is not possible to measure the quantum state of any system without affecting the system. This property provides secure transmission of key between sender and receiver. Quantum Cryptography is a way to combine the relative ease and convenience of key exchange in public key cryptography with the ultimate security of a one-time pad. Quantum techniques for key distribution, the classically impossible task of distributing secret information over an insecure channel whose transmissions are subject to inspection by an eavesdropper, between parties who share no secret key initially. Quantum Cryptography uses the principles of Quantum Mechanics to implement a cryptographic system. The key problem which is solved by using quantum techniques is that of eavesdropping detection. The bits are represented as qubits, physically modeled by photons, and communicated over a quantum channel. The polarization states of photons represent 0's and 1's. Quantum key distribution and its applications

Takeoka, Masahiro, Masahiro Takeoka

This chapter describes quantum cryptography. Quantum cryptography is one of the most successful applications of quantum optics and quantum information theory. The key technology of quantum cryptography is quantum key distribution (QKD), which can distribute secret keys that are unbreakable by any computational means or physical eavesdropping attacks. The chapter starts with a brief overview of the current cryptographies and their potential threats, then describes the security and basic operation principles of quantum cryptography. We will also see that quantum cryptography has already been deployed into the field testbed, and proof-of-concept demonstrations of its applications will soon be available in practical use.

Quantum Key Distribution Algorithm for Network Security

Domi Caroline S

Quantum computing computes using superposition principles and entanglement principles that are the part of quantum. Quantum computers are used to solve certain problems that cannot be solved using classical computers. The most widely using quantum models are quantum circuit uses qubits or quantum bits.In cryptography, Quantum cryptography provides more security than classical methods. Shor’s algorithm and Grover’s algorithm are mainly used methods for quantum cryptography. The encryption and decryption is done using Rectilinear bases or Diagonal bases in random manner. The Quantum key distribution QKD is a symmetric encryption key distribution method. The important feature of QKD is authentication and confidentiality. Public key protocol and a symmetric secret key is used to provide quantum safe key exchange and guarantee for long term communication in the network. In the proposed system, the Morse code is used for encryption and decryption. The Morse code used to encrypt bits as light photons that are required for quantum key distribution.

Quantum Cryptography

S. Venkata Lakshmi, Sujatha Krishnamoorthy, Mudassir Khan +2 more

Cryptography is used for the secure communication in which two parties are involved. The most popular cryptographic issue is the transmission of confidential messages. The privacy is maintained using the cryptographic protocol. The security of quantum cryptography relies more on physics including quantum mechanics and statistics rather than on solving mathematical problems. A well-known application of quantum cryptography is quantum key distribution (QKD) that is used to establish communication by generating cryptographic keys. Moreover, it is based on the Heisenberg uncertainty principle that ensures the security and prevents from eavesdropping. Basically, quantum cryptography with faint laser pulses, polarization coding, phase coding, and frequency coding have been discussed.

Quantum cryptography and quantum-key distribution with single photons

V. L. Kurochkin, I. I. Ryabtsev, Igor G. Neizvestny

A brief overview of the current status of quantum cryptography is given. The results are presented of our preliminary experiments with free-space quantum-key distribution by means of single linearly polarized photons with coded polarization states according to the BB84 protocol, for which purpose a quantum-cryptography communication system is designed. Single photons are detected with a 50% probability using specially designed high-speed photodetectors based on silicon avalanche photodiodes, operated in Geiger mode with active avalanche quenching. A key generation rate of 3.8 kbit/s is obtained, the mean photon number per pulse being 0.2.
