Abstract

In this paper,we try to reinterpret the EPR paradox by using pair of particle-antiparticles.Different from the model that works in discrete spin space given by D.Bohm, continuous variables,i.e.,coordinate and momentum of the particles are still considered,as employed by Einstein et al in their original paper. It is shown that the interpretation presented here makes for removing the formal puzzle dom existed in the EPR model.

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradox and Antiparticle

Guang-jiong Ni, Guan, Hong

The original version of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox is discussed to show the completeness of Quantum Mechanics (QM). The unique solution leads to the wave function of antiparticle unambiguously, which implies the essential conformity between QM and Special Relativity (SR).

Research on the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox

Oreste Piccioni, Werner A. W. Mehlhop, Brian C. Wright

This report discusses the following: The analysis of the singlet state of separate fermions proves that the EPR contradicts QM. The violation of special relativity. The Schroedinger equation and the EPR. The conservation of angular momentum. The proposal of collapse. The factorization of the spin states. The superposition principle. No paradox exists within the theory. The original state of Einstein et al is not a valid example of the EPR, and it seems impossible to construct a valid linear momentum example. This is another indication that the EPR contradicts QM. Actions at a distance, the model of Einstein et al for particles with mass, and Bell's inequalities and their physical meaning.

Closer Look at EPR Paradox and Bell’s Inequality

Vladimir K. Ignatovich

The EPR paradox is shown to be a result of the wrong definitions in quantum mechanics of such physical quantities as momentum and position. The corrected definitions show that momentum and position of particles can be precisely defined simultaneously and uncertainty relations do not prevent it. Therefore, with correct definition of physical quantities in quantum mechanics, the paradox disappears. The Bohm Aharonov version of the EPR paradox is illustrated by the example of measuring the polarization of photon pairs. The common view of the two photon state radiated by a source is presented. The common Bell’s inequality is discussed and the simplest version of it for a specific hidden variable is derived. A possibility of an experimental study of whether a photon and its polarization are preexistent before measurements is considered.

Über das Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradoxon / On the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradox

Peter Mittelstaedt

The EPR experiment is analysed in terms of ordinary quantum mechanics and shown to be compatible with the orthodox interpretation of this theory. There is no need to refer to Bohrs resolution of the EPR paradox, nor is it necessary to assume any further unusual properties of the quantum physical reality. In particular, it is shown that the EPR experiment does not contradict the fact that incommensurable properties cannot be objectivized simultaneously in a quantum mechanical system, and that the measuring process can be understood in terms of quantum theory as an interaction of the measuring apparatus and the object system. From these results it follows that there is no reason to search for modifications of the quantum theory which might be more convenient for a realistic interpretation of the EPR experiment. Furthermore, the EPR experiment cannot be used as a motivation for introducing hidden variables into the quantum theory. Experimental investigations which try to test quantum mechanics in respect to the possibility of introducing local hidden variables can therefore not be justified by the EPR paradox.

Quantum mechanics analysis of eigenstate in original EPR paradox

Tan Yuan-he

The eigenstate existing in the problem of EPR paradox is introduced. The commutation of related operators is analyzed and the wave-function in coordinate representation of the eigenstate is verified and its physical signification is discussed. The eigenstate is expended in the direct product space of the moment eigenstates of a two-particle system, subsequently the wave-function in momentum representation is obtained. The relation of the form of the wave-function in momentum representation and the selection of the origin of coordinates, including its physical meaning was analyzed. Results showed that the eigenstate was a entangled state of the coordinate and momentum.

A hidden variable solution to the EPR paradox

Jorma Jormakka

The hidden variable solution to the EPR paradox proposes that correlation of measurements of entangled particles is due to variables that get decided when the entangled particles get created. It is shown that the correlation of spin measurements in Bell's form of the EPR paradox can be explained as deriving from spin of the entangled particles in the x-direction. This spin parameter is not hidden as it is included in the standard quantum mechanical formulation.
