Abstract

The system of two pairs of two-level atoms initially in the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen(EPR) entangled states interacting with two cavities in vacuum fields was studied by means of the quantum theory. It has been shown that the evolution of the whole four-atom system generally exhibits entanglement,by introducing and measuring the fifth atom,a disentanglement scheme of one-off on this four-atom system is proposed.

Disentanglement-free state of two pairs of two-level atoms

Chui‐Ping Yang, Guang‐Can Guo

In this paper, a system composed of two pairs of two-level atoms and a multimode-vacuum field is considered. In our model, either pair contains two atoms that are assumed to be set close. We propose a disentanglement-free state of the two pairs of two-level atoms. It is remarkable that when the two pairs, initially in such a state, fly apart an arbitrary distance, the state will undergo no decoherence. By means of such a state, we can prepare the perfect Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen pair shared by two ``distant'' parties and realize long-distance entanglement swapping. Finally, a method for preparing such a disentanglement-free state is presented.

Preparation and Decoherence of Two-Atom Entangled States in a Dissipative Cavity

Shao-Hua Xiang, Kehui Song

We present a scheme for generating four pairs of two-atom Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) states using the simultaneous interaction of the two atoms with a single-mode cavity field under a large detuning condition. The influence of cavity dissipation on the prepared EPR states is investigated by means of the superoperator method and the state fidelity. It is shown that some kinds of the prepared EPR states are robust against cavity dissipation and the intensity of the field, and maintain their entanglement invariance, and the others are fragile and completely destroyed by the action of cavity dissipation and the intensity of the field in the long-time limit. Decoherence time of the fragile entangled states is extremely small for a typical cavity-QED experimental data.

Teleportation of a two-atom entangled state using a single EPR pair in cavity QED

Xin Ji, Li Ke, Zhang Shou

We propose a scheme for teleporting a two-atom entangled state in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). In the scheme, we choose a single Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) pair as the quantum channel which is shared by the sender and the receiver. By using the atom–cavity-field interaction and introducing an additional atom, we can teleport the two-atom entangled state successfully with a probability of 1.0. Moreover, we show that the scheme is insensitive to cavity decay and thermal field.

Generation of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Pairs of Atoms

E. W. Hagley, Xavier Maı̂tre, Gilles Nogues +4 more

Pairs of atoms have been prepared in an entangled state of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) type. They were produced by the exchange of a single photon between the atoms in a high $Q$ cavity. The atoms, entangled in a superposition involving two different circular Rydberg states, were separated by a distance of the order of 1 cm. At variance with most previous EPR experiments, this one involves massive particles. It can be generalized to three or more atoms and opens the way to new tests of nonlocality in mesoscopic quantum systems.

Preparation and applications of the disentanglement-free state

Kehui Song, Yun-Kun Jiang, Bao‐Sen Shi +1 more

In this paper, the disentanglement-free state is prepared by using the cavity QED technique. Through this disentanglement-free state we have obtained a long-distance Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pair. By using n EPR pairs of distance-atom and n distance-cavity, the entanglement of the n distance-cavity has been obtained. This entanglement can then be used in quantum communications.

The evolution property of three-body entanglement measure in Tavis-Cummings mode l

Zuo Zhan-Chun, Yun‐Jie Xia, 曲阜师范大学物理系,曲阜 273165

This paper studies the quantum entanglement of the Tavis-Cummings model for two steady identical two-level atoms interac-ting with a single-mode field. Whe n the field is vacuum and the two atoms stay in Einstein-Podolsky-Rosem entangle d state or disentangled state initially, we obtain that the system will evol ve to a three-body approximate W entangled state. The entanglement measure will change with the variation of system initial state, coupling coefficients, detuni ng degree and atomic population inversion. It should be noted that the atomic co upling coefficient exhibits the nonlinear effect and the entanglement measure os cillates periodically in accordance with atomic population inversion.
