Abstract

The model that two two level atoms interact with a singel mode cavity is studied. The exact solution of the time evolution operator for the two atom Jaynes Cummings model is presented by the bare states approach. Furthermore, we investigate the dynamical properties of the photon statistics of the cavity field, and obtain a number of novel features.

Dynamics of the two-atom Jaynes-Cummings model with nondegenerate two-photon transitions

Eugene K. Bashkirov

An exact solution is found for the collective model of two identical two-level atoms that resonantly interact with a two-mode quantum electromagnetic field in an ideal cavity via two-photon nondegenerate transitions. In the case under study, at the initial moment, both field modes are in the coherent state and atoms are in the excited state. The time dependences of the atomic probabilities, the mean number of photons in the modes, and the statistics and squeezing of the photon modes are studied based on the exact solution.

Dynamics of a two-mode two-photon Jaynes–Cummings model interacting with correlated SU(1, 1) coherent states

Christopher C. Gerry, Ronald F. Welch

We study the quantum dynamics of a two-mode two-photon Jaynes–Cummings model of a two-level atom interacting with the correlated two-mode SU(1, 1) coherent states. The collapse and revival patterns in this case are noted to be quite different from those in the case of uncorrelated coherent states and correlated pair-coherent states. As an example of the time evolution of the field statistics we show that violation of the Cauchy–Schwartz inequality by the initial field states may be nullified. We also discuss the evolution of the variance of the two-mode field quadrature operator.
