Abstract

The author work out the differential equation of the density matrix of the two level atom system in accordance with the Raman process of the two-level atom interacting the two-mode fields, then make research on its decoherence properties. The result reflects that the decoherence of the quit has something to do with its original state, the frequency of the two-mode fields and the average quantity of photon in the two-mode fields.Decoherence phenomenon is especially obvious when the average quantity of photon is more than one.

Deng-Yu Zhang

The interaction of a two-level atom with a thermal radiation field for single-photon processes and two-photon processes without rotating wave approximation is analysed. The atom's reduced density matrix is calculated when the quantum theory in small system coupled to thermal reservoir is used. The decoherence properties of atom is analyzed.[WT5HZ]

Entropy squeezing for a two-level atom in two-mode Raman coupled model with intrinsic decoherence

Jian Zhang, Shao Bin, Zou Jian

In this paper, we investigate the entropy squeezing for a two-level atom interacting with two quantized fields through Raman coupling. We obtain the dynamical evolution of the total system under the influence of intrinsic decoherence when the two quantized fields are prepared in a two-mode squeezing vacuum state initially. The effects of the field squeezing factor, the two-level atomic transition frequency, the second field frequency and the intrinsic decoherence on the entropy squeezing are discussed. Without intrinsic decoherence, the increase of field squeezing factor can break the entropy squeezing. The two-level atomic transition frequency changes only the period of oscillation but not the strength of entropy squeezing. The influence of the second field frequency is complicated. With the intrinsic decoherence taken into consideration, the results show that the stronger the intrinsic decoherence is, the more quickly the entropy squeezing will disappear. The increase of the atomic transition frequency can hasten the disappearance of entropy squeezing.

EMISSION SPECTRA OF TWO ATOMS INTERACTING WITH TWO MODES OF THE CAVITY FIELD THROUGH RAMAN PROCESS (g1≠g2)

Feng Jian, Song Tong-Qiang, Wenzheng Wang +2 more

Emission spectra of a pair of effective two-level atoms interacting with two modes of the cavity field through Raman interaction are studied, where the interaction of each atom with the field may be different. The spectra with two modes of the cavity field being initially in various number states are analysed in detail. It is found that emission spectra manifest following new properties: When mode 1 of the cavity field is in vacuum state and the other is in the weak field , the spectrum shows symmetric ten peaks and six peaks alternately, with the increase of R=g2/g1, which reflects the different Raman interacting intensities of two atoms with the cavity field more sensitively compared with the spectrum of two atoms in a single-mode cavity. The spectrum with 01=1, n2=50 and n1 = 50, n2=1 reflects the different positions of mode 1 and mode 2 of cavity field interacting with two atoms through Raman process. Finally, the symmetric 16-peaks structure of the spectrum is explained.

Emission spectrum of two atoms interacting with two modes of the cavity field with different coupling constants through a multiphoton Raman process

Jian Feng, Song Tong-Qiang, Gao Yun-feng

The emission spectrum of a pair of effective two-level atoms interacting with two modes of the radiation field with different coupling constants through a multiphoton Raman process is studied. A general expression for the emission spectrum with two modes of the field being in arbitrary states is presented. Our results show that when two modes of the field are in arbitrary number states, the spectrum is always symmetric about the resonant frequency , although the Hamiltonian of the system is asymmetric which is induced by the two different atom-field coupling constants. This property is analysed with an analytic method.

CAVITY FIELD SPECTRA OF AN ATOM INTERACTING WITH TWO-MODE FIELD THROUGH RAMAN PROCESS

Gao Yun-feng, Feng Jian, SHI SHU-REN +1 more

The cavity field spectra of a two level atom interacting with two mode field through Raman process are investigated. It is shown that the basic features of the spectra is unchanged whether the atom is in the high or low level state initially. Symmetrical two peak structure appears in the spectrum for each mode when the initial fields are both in the pure number states or both in the coherent states. The split of the two peaks is proportional to the field intensity of the other mode.

Model of the atom laser with Raman outcoupling

Chasib A. Emshary, Shaker I. Esa, Arafat J. Almanea

In the present paper, the authors start from the interaction of a system of two-level atoms with an electromagnetic field to drive the interaction Hamiltonian between these two-level atoms. Second, introduce the equations of motion which describing the dynamics of atom laser depending on the interaction Hamiltonian, this interaction Hamiltonian will be used to describe the outcoupling process in a Raman atom laser. Also, the authors model the dynamics of an atom laser produced by outcoupling three-level atoms from a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) via a Raman transition and investigate the transfer of quantum statistics from one of the optical modes to the atomic field. Finally, the authors mathematical treatment leads to the same as equations appears in literature which allowed obtaining the dynamics for any atom laser systems.
