There is a good application prospect of Quantum Cryptography. The development in theory and experiments are reviewed, and with the emphasis on experimental and technological issues.
Quantum cryptography is a quickly developing field that brings direct applications of fundamentals of quantum theory. In this paper we present a brief review of the tasks and problems faced by classical cryptography and we point out the benefits of quantum cryptography to their solution. An overview of the experimental achievements and an outline of the principle of quantum key distribution are given. Various experimental approaches are compared. The quantum cryptographic device built by the authors is described and its use for mutual identification system is presented.
Quantum computers are designed to outperform standard computers by running quantum algorithms. Fields in which quantum algorithms can be applied include cryptography, search and optimization, simulation of quantum systems and solving large systems of linear equations. Here we briefly survey some known quantum algorithms, with an emphasis on a broad overview of their applications rather than their technical details. We focus to introduce the development of entire field, and provide a comprehensive and accurate understanding concerning this field, which may be helpful for interested researchers in this area.
