Abstract

In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4),  ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using a probability distribution method based on the use of exact Van der Waerden identities. We present our numerical results, such as the phase diagrams, the thermal variations of the transverse magnetization, the internal energy, the magnetic specific heat as a function of different values of p, the concentration of the random transverse field. As a result, the critical values of transverse field , temperature and concentration were obtained for the square lattice.

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization,  internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

Magnetic properties of a mixed spin- 1 and spin- 3 transverse Ising model

Noureddine Benayad, A. Dakhama, J. Zittartz

A theoretical study of a mixed spin- and spin- Ising system with independent transverse fields is present- ed using an effective field method within the framework of a single-site cluster theory. In this approach the effective field equations are derived using a probability distribution method based on the use of generalized van der Waerden identities accounting exactly for the single-site kinematic relations. The effect of the transverse fields on the critical behaviour is studied. The thermal dependence of the lon- gitudinal and transverse components of the magnetization and its higher moments is also studied.

The diluted mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising model in a transverse random field

Noureddine Benayad, A. Dakhama, Ahmed Fathi +1 more

The diluted mixed-spin Ising system consisting of spin 1/2 and spin 1 with a transverse random field is studied by the use of an effective-field method within the framework of a single-site cluster theory. The equations are derived using a probability distribution method based on the use of Van der Waerden identities. The phase diagrams are investigated for various lattice structures both for pure and diluted systems, where the transverse field is bimodally and trimodally distributed.

Surface magnetism of a transverse Ising model with disordered surface

I. Tamura, Enaldo F. Sarmento, T. Kaneyoshi

Within the framework of an effective-field theory with correlation evaluated for the Ising model with transverse field, the authors discuss the following cases: a diluted ferromagnetic square lattice with a transverse field; the magnetic behaviour of a transverse Ising model with diluted surface in a simple cubic lattice; and the surface magnetism of random transverse field at the surface. The surface magnetism is examined as a function of Delta =(J s /J)-1, the concentrations p and q of magnetic atoms at the surface, and Omega s and Omega b , the surface and bulk transverse field respectively. The phase diagrams for surface ordering are obtained and some characteristic behaviours of magnetism at the diluted surface are presented. The present framework is quite superior to the standard MFA, and whenever comparison is possible a satisfactory qualitative (and to a certain extent quantitative) agreement with results available in the literature is found.

Phase Transitions for the Random Transverse Spin 1/2 Ising Film

Hamid Ez-zahraouy A, Ahmed Kassou-Ou-Ali

The effect of a random transverse field on the phase transitions of a ferromagnetic spin 1/2 Ising film is investigated within a finite cluster approximation with an expansion technique for the cluster identities of spin 1/2 systems. The phase diagrams are determined as a function of the transverse field for different values of the concentration p of the disorder of the latter. It is found that at very low temperatures the ferromagnetic order is destroyed under the effect of the transverse field only if the concentration is larger than a critical value pc, which is independent of the film thickness.

Critical properties of the transverse ferromagnetic spin system with random single-ion anisotropy

邓玲玲, 晏世雷

A transverse ferromagnetic spin-1 system with a random single-ion anisotropy is considered in the framework of an Ising model. The effective field theory and decoupling approximation are applied to the derivation of the expressions of magnetizations for a honeycomb lattice.Special emphasis is placed on the critical properties of the system.New critical properties are obtained in a certain range of single-ion anisotropy, random concentration, and transverse field. We discuss in detail the influence of the random concentration and transverse field on the critical properties. Some phenomena have not been discovered in previous reports.Detailed descriptions of the phase transition and magnetization curves are presented.
