Abstract

The effects of the difference of circuit parameters or capacitances and inductances on the quantum fluctuations in the non-resonant damped mesoscopic coupled electric circuits were studied. In the calculations, the physical mechanism of the generation of the resistance or the interaction between electrons and phonons was considered. The difference of the circuit parameters in the two component circuits makes the quantum fluctuations in one component circuit smaller and that in the other larger. The results also show that both capacitance coupling and inductance coupling will cause the quantum fluctuations of the electric charge in the coupling part squeezed. But there is no squeezing for the electric current in the coupling part.

Quantum Fluctuations in Damped Inductive-Coupled Electric Circuit

Liang Mai-lin

Based on the physical mechanism of the generation of resistance, i.e. the collision of electrons with lattices, the inductive-coupled electric circuit was quantized when there exists resistance in the coupling part. Quantum fluctuations were calculated for both the component circuits and the coupling part. And meanwhile, the temperature effect was included. The result shows that quantum fluctuations change with time, but reach definite values after a long time. The resistance in the coupling part affects the quantum fluctuations both in the coupling part and in the component circuits. Compared to the former results, the quantum fluctuations derived by this new method are smaller.

Quantization and quantum fluctuations in a damped time-dependent inductive coupled electric circuit

Sun Yu-Jing

For the damped inductive coupled electric circuit with time-dependent inductances and capacitances, the system is quantized with the electron-phonon interaction included and the quantum fluctuations are calculated. In the studied coupled circuit, there are resistances both in the component circuits and in the coupling part. When the inductances and the capacitances are independent of time, the physical quantities will first decrease with oscillations and then reach a stable state. At the stable state,if the inductances and capacitances in the two component circuits are the same and the resistances go to zero, the quantum fluctuations will tend to that of the undamped circuit.

Reduction of Quantum Fluctuations Induced by Coupling

WU Hai-bo

For different states of the mesoscopic capacitive coupled electric circuit, reduction of quantum fluctuations induced by the coupling was studied. If the coupled circuit is at its ground state, or initially the system is decoupled, quantum fluctuations of the electric charge everywhere can be reduced, but that of the electric current can not. If initially the coupling part is open, quantum fluctuations of the current in the component circuits can not be squeezed; but quantum fluctuations of the current in the coupling part and quantum fluctuations of the charge everywhere can be reduced.

QUANTUM FLUCTUATIONS OF A DISSIPATIVE MESOSCOPIC CAPACITANCE–RESISTANCE–INDUCTANCE COUPLED CIRCUIT

Zhang Yuqiang, Shaohong Cai, Han Yue-Wu

Starting from Kirchhoff's equation for each mesoscopic coupled circuit, we investigated the quantum fluctuations of a dissipative mesoscopic capacitance–resistance–inductance coupled circuit using canonical transformation and unitary transformation. It is shown that the quantum fluctuations of charges and currents are not only related to the parameters of components in the self-circuit and coupled part, but also influenced by the parameters of other circuit. The uncertainty relations of the charges and currents are analyzed briefly.

Quantum fluctuations in a mesoscopic damped LC parallel circuit in displaced squeezed Fock state

Gu Yong-Jian

We study the quantum effects of a damped LC parallel circuit considering its different performance from an RLC series circuit in classical physics. The damped LC parallel circuit with a source is quantized and the quantum fluctuations of magnetic flux and electric charge in the circuit in displaced squeezed Fock state are investigated. It is shown that, as in the RLC series circuit, the fluctuations only depend on the squeezing parameter and the parameters of the circuit components in the damped LC parallel circuit, but the effects of the circuit components on the fluctuations are different in the two circuits.

The dissipative mesoscopic coupled circuits are obtained by the method of damped harmonic oscillator quantization . The quantum fluctuations of charge and current in an arbitrary eigenstate of the system have also been given .The result shows that the quantum fluctuations of the charge and current exist in all states, and the fluctuations in the component circuits are corelated.
