Abstract

The energy level and the eigenstate entanglement in a Heisenberg spin chain with three-spin interaction are analysed. We study the entanglement in a tri-qubit Heisenberg spin chain, the entangled states are all W state. And the ground state entanglement are analysed when the temperature is zero.We find that the entanglement in the antiferromagnetic chain doesn′t change with the parameters. The entanglement in the ferromagnetic chain changes with the anisotropy and three-spin interaction. We also study the thermal entanglement in the system under low temperature. The function of the entanglement is expressed and the relation with temperature, anisotropy and interaction are pictured.

Ground-State and Thermal Entanglement in Three-Spin Heisenberg- XXZ Chain with Three-Spin Interaction

Yong Zhang, Long Gui-Lu

The entanglement properties of a three-spin XXZ Heisenberg chain with three-spin interaction are studied by means of concurrence of pairwise entanglement. We show that ground-state pairwise entanglement, pairwise thermal entanglement, or quantum phase transition is not present in antiferromagnetic spin chain. For the ferromagnetic case, quantum phase transition takes place at Δ = 1 for anisotropic interaction and at some values of three-spin coupling strength, and pairwise thermal entanglement increases when the value of J / T increases and with anisotropic interaction and three-spin interaction decrease. In addition, we find that increasing the anisotropic interaction and the three-spin interaction will decrease critical temperature.

Entanglement in a molecular three-qubit system

Amit Kumar Pal, Indrani Bose

We study the entanglement properties of a molecular three-qubit system described by the Heisenberg spin Hamiltonian with anisotropic exchange interactions and including an external magnetic field. The system exhibits first-order quantum phase transitions by tuning two parameters, x and y, of the Hamiltonian to specific values. The three-qubit chain is open-ended so that there are two types of pairwise entanglement: nearest-neighbour (nn) and next-nearest-neighbour (nnn). We calculate the ground and thermal state concurrences, quantifying pairwise entanglement, as a function of the parameters x, y and the temperature T. The entanglement threshold and gap temperatures are also determined as a function of the anisotropy parameter x. The results obtained are of relevance in understanding the entanglement features of the recently engineered molecular Cr(7)Ni-Cu(2+)-Cr(7)Ni complex which serves as a three-qubit system at sufficiently low temperatures.

Pairwise entanglement in three-qubit Heisenberg model with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

Yanhui Wang, Yun‐Jie Xia, 山东省激光偏光与信息技术重点实验室,曲阜师范大学物理系,曲阜 273165

In this paper, we study the improvement and manipulation of pairwise thermal entanglement in one-dimentional three-qubit Heisenberg model, where Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction is considered and concurrence is calculated to research this entanglements property. The results show that for XXX model, DM interaction can induce entanglement in the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic spin chains although the required critical values are different for these cases. For XXZ model, by introducing DM interaction D, antiferromagnetic spin chain has entanglement which is absent when D=0, and in addition, for antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic cases, DM interaction D and the anisotropy parameter Δ have different effects on entanglement. As a result, the entanglement can be controlled and enhanced by choosing appropriate DM interaction and anisotropy parameter. Furthermore, we find that at the same temperature, no matter for antiferromagnetic or ferromagnetic spin chains, the critical DM interaction inducing entanglement should be greater in a three-qubit XXZ model than that in a two-qubit XXZ model.

Thermal entanglement in three-qubit Heisenberg models

Xiaoguang Wang, Hongchen Fu, A. I. Solomon

We study pairwise thermal entanglement in three-qubit Heisenberg models and obtain analytic expressions for the concurrence. We find that thermal entanglement is absent from both the antiferromagnetic XXZ model, and the ferromagnetic XXZ model with anisotropy parameter Δ⩾1. Conditions for the existence of thermal entanglement are discussed in detail, as is the role of degeneracy and the effects of magnetic fields on thermal entanglement and the quantum phase transition. Specifically, we find that the uniform magnetic field can induce entanglement in the antiferromagnetic XXX model, but cannot induce entanglement in the ferromagnetic XXX model.

Thermal entanglement of spins in the Heisenberg model at low temperatures

M. Asoudeh, Vahid Karimipour

We calculate the entanglement between two spins in the ferromagnetic Heisenberg chain at low temperatures, and show that when only the ground state and the one-particle states are populated, the entanglement profile is a Gaussian with a characteristic length depending on the temperature and the coupling between spins. The magnetic field affects only the amplitude of the profile and not its characteristic length.
