Discrete Entropic Uncertainty Relations Associated with FRFT

Guanlei Xu, Xiaotong Wang, Lijia Zhou +2 more

Based on the definition and properties of discrete fractional Fourier transform (DFRFT), we introduced the discrete Hausdorff-Young inequality. Furthermore, the discrete Shannon entropic uncertainty relation and discrete Rényi entropic uncertainty relation were explored. Also, the condition of equality via Lagrange optimization was developed, as shows that if the two conjugate variables have constant amplitudes that are the inverse of the square root of numbers of non-zero elements, then the uncertainty relations reach their lowest bounds. In addition, the resolution analysis via the uncertainty is discussed as well.

Some applications of uncertainty relations in quantum information

A. S. Majumdar, Tanumoy Pramanik

We discuss some applications of various versions of uncertainty relations for both discrete and continuous variables in the context of quantum information theory. The Heisenberg uncertainty relation enables demonstration of the Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen (EPR) paradox. Entropic uncertainty relations (EURs) are used to reveal quantum steering for non-Gaussian continuous variable states. EURs for discrete variables are studied in the context of quantum memory where fine-graining yields the optimum lower bound of uncertainty. The fine-grained uncertainty relation is used to obtain connections between uncertainty and the nonlocality of retrieval games for bipartite and tripartite systems. The Robertson-Schrödinger (RS) uncertainty relation is applied for distinguishing pure and mixed states of discrete variables.

Entropic uncertainty relations under localizations on discrete quantum groups

Sang-Gyun Youn

The uncertainty principle has been established within the framework of locally compact quantum groups in recent years. This paper demonstrates that entropic uncertainty relations can be strengthened under localizations on discrete quantum groups, which is the case if the dual compact quantum group G is the free orthogonal quantum group ON+ with N ≥ 3 or if G admits an infinite Λ(p) set with p > 2. On the other hand, this paper explains the reason why such phenomena do not appear when G is one of the connected semisimple compact Lie groups, O2+, and the quantum SU(2) groups. Also, we discuss the divergence of entropic uncertainty relations together with some explicit explanations.
