Abstract

The quantum control theory based on the quantum mechenics and quantum information theory is rising.Quantum control is rather different from classical control. It gives us the new philosophical meanings:wave-function is the unification of quantum reality and quantum information, quantum state is the unification of measurability and controllability, and quantum state is an important resources.

Quantum information

Guolin Wu

Quantum information stands apart from classical information, rooted in the principles of quantum mechanics and quantum information theory. Quantum states serve as the fundamental unit of quantum information, whose evolution is governed by the laws of quantum mechanics. While some philosophers, such as A. Duwell have argued that there is no quantum information, which is not a new concept and can be described using Shannon information theory, others, like C. M. Caves and C. A. Fuchs have proposed that quantum information represents classical information stored within quantum systems. However, this chapter argues that quantum information exists and is different from classical information from the perspectives of how information exists and how it is transmitted. Quantum information, unlike classical information, can be categorized into two kinds: Ontological quantum information and epistemological quantum information, where the former reflects the inherent state of microscopic particles, which is independent of observation, and the latter describes how we perceive their state through measurements. Finally, this chapter explores the connection between quantum information and quantum reality. Quantum reality refers to the show of the self-identity of quantum entities. Quantum information, on the other hand, is the show of the states and correlative ways of quantum entities, and it coexists with quantum reality.

The Essential Character and Philosophical Meanings of the Quantum Information

Pan Ping

Quantum information is a new forefront inter discipline combined by quantum mechanics and information science. It has the unique characteristics of entanglement and non localized connection that the classic information science cannot demonstrate. This poses a new problem to the philosophy. The present paper discusses, from the philosophical angle, two basic philosophical problems resulting from non certain theory and the objective substantiality in the field of the quantum information.

Philosophical Aspects of Quantum Information Theory

Christopher G. Timpson

Quantum information theory represents a rich subject of discussion for those interested in the philosphical and foundational issues surrounding quantum mechanics for a simple reason: one can cast its central concerns in terms of a long-familiar question: How does the quantum world differ from the classical one? Moreover, deployment of the concepts of information and computation in novel contexts hints at new (or better) means of understanding quantum mechanics, and perhaps even invites re-assessment of traditional material conceptions of the basic nature of the physical world. In this paper I review some of these philosophical aspects of quantum information theory, begining with an elementary survey of the theory, seeking to highlight some of the principles and heuristics involved. We move on to a discussion of the nature and definition of quantum information and deploy the findings in discussing the puzzles surrounding teleportation. The final two sections discuss, respectively, what one might learn from the development of quantum computation (both about the nature of quantum systems and about the nature of computation) and consider the impact of quantum information theory on the traditional foundational questions of quantum mechanics (treating of the views of Zeilinger, Bub and Fuchs, amongst others).

Quantum Entanglement and Its Philosophical Meaning

WU Guo-lin

Since 1990's, quantum information theory is coming, and quantum entanglement is from theory to practice. Quantum entanglement is the key to quantum information and quantum teleportation, and special quantum correlations with superspace and nonlocality. Quantum entanglement is involved in nonlocality, internal space, individuality, resources of entanglement, mutual action, symmetry and identity and so on important philosophical problems, and bring us new philosophical meaning.

Introduction to Quantum Control and Dynamics

Domenico D’Alessandro

The introduction of control theory in quantum mechanics has created a rich, new interdisciplinary scientific field, which is producing novel insight into important theoretical questions at the heart of quantum physics. Exploring this emerging subject, Introduction to Quantum Control and Dynamics presents the mathematical concepts and fundamental physics behind the analysis and control of quantum dynamics, emphasizing the application of Lie algebra and Lie group theory. To advantage students, instructors and practitioners, and since the field is highly interdisciplinary, this book presents an introduction with all the basic notions in the same place. The field has seen a large development in parallel with the neighboring fields of quantum information, computation and communication. The author has maintained an introductory level to encourage course use. After introducing the basics of quantum mechanics, the book derives a class of models for quantum control systems from fundamental physics. It examines the controllability and observability of quantum systems and the related problem of quantum state determination and measurement. The author also uses Lie group decompositions as tools to analyze dynamics and to design control algorithms. In addition, he describes various other control methods and discusses topics in quantum information theory that include entanglement and entanglement dynamics. Changes to the New Edition: New Chapter 4: Uncontrollable Systems and Dynamical Decomposition New section on quantum control landscapes A brief discussion of the experiments that earned the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics Corrections and revised concepts are made to improve accuracy Armed with the basics of quantum control and dynamics, readers will invariably use this interdisciplinary knowledge in their mathematics, physics and engineering work.
