Abstract

We study optical signals′ Wigner-Ville distribution in the context of quantum optics. We point out that the study can be mathematically concise and physical appealing by using the explicit normally ordered form of the Wigner operator and the entangled Wigner operator,as well as the squeezing operator in the entangled state representation.

By using the normal ordering form of the coordinate, momentum completeness,we directly and concisely introduce the Wigner operator and then illustrate its relation with the Weyl correspondence. The coherent state representation of the Wigner operator is also neatly derived.

Tomographic and Entropic Analysis of Modulated Signals

Alena S. Mastiukova, Maxim A. Gavreev, Evgeniy O. Kiktenko +1 more

Abstract We study an application of the quantum tomography framework for the time-frequency analysis of modulated signals. In particular, we calculate optical tomographic representations and Wigner–Ville distributions for signals with amplitude and frequency modulations. We also consider time-frequency entropic relations for modulated signals, which are naturally associated with the Fourier analysis. A numerical toolbox for calculating optical time-frequency tomograms based on pseudo Wigner–Ville distributions for modulated signals is provided.

New approach for obtaining the squeezing-enhanced state and its Wigner function by virtue of the Weyl–Wigner quantization scheme

Hong-Yi Fan, Hong‐Chun Yuan, Xue-xiang Xu +1 more

By virtue of the Weyl?Wigner quantization scheme, we derive the explicit form of the squeezing-enhanced state without disentangling the generalized squeezing operator where Q and P are two quadratures of the light field; this approach is convenient and concise. By virtue of the Weyl-ordering invariance under similar transformations, the Wigner function of the squeezing-enhanced state is derived and its figure is depicted, which clearly exhibits the squeezing enhancement.

Weyl-Ordered Operator Product Formula Derived by Technique of Integration Within Weyl-Ordered Product of Operators

Fan Hong-Yi, Qin Guo

Based on the explicit Weyl-ordered form of Wigner operator and the technique of integration within Weyl-ordered product of operators we derive the Weyl-ordered operator product formula. The formula is then generalized to the entangled form with the help of entangled state representations.

Relationship Between Wave Function and Corresponding Wigner Function Studied in Entangled State Representation

Xing-Lei Xu, Hongqi Li, Fan Hong-Yi

By using the explicit form of the entangled Wigner operator and the entangled state representation we derive the relationship between wave function and corresponding Wigner function for bipartite entangled systems. The technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators is employed in our discussions.
