Abstract

The normal frequencies and its corresponding normal coordinates and conjugate momentums for a three-body coupled pendulum quantum system is derived in terms of the invariant eigen-operator method. With Hamiltonian of the system decoupled, the visible analytic solutions of normal frequencies in the system are obtained. The analytic solutions of exact wave function of the system in coordinate representation are deduced.Whereas, when calculating the Hamiltonian containing mechanical quantity with invariant eigen-operator method, the three power and more than three power terms of system Hamiltonian are very intricacy.

Exact wave function of the n-module coupled harmonic oscillators quantum system

Sun Li-hong

The normal frequencies and its corresponding normal coordinates and conjugate momentums of the n-module coupled harmonic oscillators quantum system are derived by using the invariant eigen-operator method. The Hamiltonian of the system is decoupled and then the visible analytic solution of normal frequencies in the system is obtained. The analytic solution of wave function of the system in the coordinate representation is deduced.Through the discussion of the coupling coefficients of different situations,we have concluded that the coupled harmonic oscillator systems with the n-module momentum or coordinates are just special cases of the system under study.

Entangled State Representation for Hamiltonian Operator of Quantum Pendulum

Fan Hong-Yi

By virtue of the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen entangled state, which is the common eigenvector of two particles' relative coordinate and total momentum, we establish the bosonic operator version of the Hamiltonian for a quantum point-mass pendulum. The Hamiltonian displays the correct Schrodinger equation in the entangled state representation. The corresponding Heisenberg operator equations which predict the angular momentum–angle uncertainty relation are derived. The quantum operator description of two quantum pendulums coupled by a spring is also derived.

Dynamical Invariant and Exact Mechanical Analyses for the Caldirola–Kanai Model of Dissipative Three Coupled Oscillators

Salim Medjber, Salah Menouar, Jeong Ryeol Choi

We study the dynamical invariant for dissipative three coupled oscillators mainly from the quantum mechanical point of view. It is known that there are many advantages of the invariant quantity in elucidating mechanical properties of the system. We use such a property of the invariant operator in quantizing the system in this work. To this end, we first transform the invariant operator to a simple one by using a unitary operator in order that we can easily manage it. The invariant operator is further simplified through its diagonalization via three-dimensional rotations parameterized by three Euler angles. The coupling terms in the quantum invariant are eventually eliminated thanks to such a diagonalization. As a consequence, transformed quantum invariant is represented in terms of three independent simple harmonic oscillators which have unit masses. Starting from the wave functions in the transformed system, we have derived the full wave functions in the original system with the help of the unitary operators.

Time-dependent coupled harmonic oscillators: Classical and quantum solutions

D. X. Macedo, I. Guedes

In this work we present the classical and quantum solutions for an arbitrary system of time-dependent coupled harmonic oscillators, where the masses (m), frequencies (ω) and coupling parameter (k) are functions of time. To obtain the classical solutions, we use a coordinate and momentum transformations along with a canonical transformation to write the original Hamiltonian as the sum of two Hamiltonians of uncoupled harmonic oscillators with modified time-dependent frequencies and unitary masses. To obtain the exact quantum solutions we use a unitary transformation and the Lewis and Riesenfeld (LR) invariant method. The exact wave functions are obtained by solving the respective Milne–Pinney (MP) equation for each system. We obtain the solutions for the system with m1 = m2 = m0eγt, ω1 = ω01e-γt/2, ω2 = ω02e-γt/2 and k = k0.

Hongyan Liu

The energy levels for three-dimensional coordinate-momentum coupled quantum harmonic oscillators are presented by using invariant eigen-operator method. The results show that the energy-level gaps are same for different coordinate-momentum coupled form of three-dimensional quantum harmonic oscillators.
