Can Smolin states alone lead to secure quantum secret sharing

Guang Ping He, Z. D. Wang, Yan-Kui Bai

It was indicated [Phys. Rev. A 75, 066301 (2007)] that a previous proposed quantum secret sharing (QSS) protocol based on Smolin states [Phys. Rev. A 73, 012318 (2006)] is insecure against an internal cheater. Here we build a new QSS protocol with Smolin states alone, and proved it to be secure against any cheating strategy. Thus we conclude that Smolin states alone can lead to secure QSS. We also propose a feasible scheme to implement the protocol experimentally.

Quantum secret sharing based on Smolin states alone

Guang Ping He, Z D Wang, Yan-Kui Bai

It was indicated [Yu 2007 Phys. Rev. A 75 066301] that a previous proposed quantum secret sharing (QSS) protocol based on Smolin states [Augusiak 2006 Phys. Rev. A 73 012318] is insecure against an internal cheater. Here we build a different QSS protocol with Smolin states alone, and prove it to be secure against known cheating strategies. Thus we open a promising venue for building secure QSS using merely Smolin states, which is a typical kind of bound entangled states. We also propose a feasible scheme to implement the protocol experimentally.

Cross quantum homomorphic encryption based on the butterfly network

Xing-Bo Pan, Yu-Ting Lei, Xiangjie Li +2 more

Quantum homomorphic encryption hides quantum information from unauthorized participants while still allowing them to perform calculations on encrypted quantum information. In this paper, we propose a cross quantum homomorphic encryption scheme based on the butterfly network, in which every receiver can receive the evaluated quantum state with perfect fidelity. The entangled states between senders of the butterfly network are preshared, and the Bell basis measurements are used to encrypt the quantum plaintext. With both classical and quantum channels, the homomorphic evaluation of quantum plaintext can be completed on the butterfly network perfectly and crossly. Our scheme solves a bottleneck problem of cross evaluation at the bottleneck nodes, and improves the evaluation efficiency and total network throughput. In addition, we have designed quantum circuits according to different quantum evaluations with a butterfly network, which provide a basic blueprint for experimental implementation. The security of the scheme is also analyzed.
