Abstract

The paper expounds the background , content and experimental testing of De Broglie hypothesis, states the conception of De Broglie wave and its speed , corrects several wrong understanding on De Broglie wave and gives the right explanation;and so it has reference value for the teaching of De Broglie hypothesis and De Broglie Wave .

On the de Broglie waves

Janez Strnad, W Kuhn

On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of Louis de Broglie's thesis, the concept of phase waves, is re-examined. After a brief historical survey a modern conceptual presentation of these waves is described via phase invariance. In this respect de Broglie's hypothesis appears not to be self-consistent. Phase waves in galilean relativity are briefly discussed. As an interesting pedagogical device, inverse phase waves in two-dimensional special relativity are presented. Finally, some remarks are added concerning the development of concepts and theories.

A Discussion on Wave-particle Dualism from the Length and Frequency of de Broglie Wave

Xiang Qun

By inference, this paper expounds that the relation of de Broglie wave's speed, length and frequency differs from that of classical waves such as mechanical wave and electromagnenic wave, and its wavelength and frequency do not have the physical meanings described by the classical theory. The reason is that de Broglie wave is not a simple representation of the classical wave, and the meanings of particle and volatility are special in wave-particle dualism.

About the Nature of De Broglie Wave

Isaak Man’kin

In this article, it is shown that if a particle is at rest and has some harmonic oscillation, then a traveling particle with a constant speed corresponds to a De Broglie Wave.In 1924, De Broglie proposed that particles of matter exhibit wave like behavior, the expression for which became fundamental in the creation of wave mechanics (quantum mechanics). The main equation for this is the Schrödinger equation, which in the case of free motion of a particle becomes the expression for the De Broglie wave. This hypothesis is supported by many early experiments on the diffraction of electrons, and later the development of modern physics. However until now, the origin of this hypothesis remains unclear. We show that the expression for the De Broglie wavelength can be obtained from a more general well-known concept, that any particle at rest has a corresponding harmonic oscillation that transforms into a wave of a moving particle with the help of relativistic change of coordinates (the Lorentz transformations). In this way, a De Broglie wave can be explained as a spacetime wave.

Ce que nous apprend l’histoire des sciences à propos du concept de fonction d’onde et impact sur l’enseignement de la physique quantique

Mustapha Oldache, Chams-Eddine Khiari

The introduction of the notion of wave function in quantum mechanics was historically done in a progressive manner, beginning with the original idea of “pilot wave” introduced by de Broglie and finishing with the interpretation of Copenhagen School. One returns here to the historical sources of this concept in order to know better its evolution along history. One believes that this method will allow understanding better the importance of the right interpretation of quantum mechanics. This study has also an educational objective in the sense that it will allow to discuss the opportunity of introducing the teaching of science history in the university programs for the future physicians, engineering physicians and teachers in high schools.

Simple Deduction and Correct Understanding of Uncertainty Relation

Weijun Yu

According to de Broglie wave hypothesis, based on one dimensional infinite wall and by using standing wave condition, distribution of momentum of a particle in one dimensional infinite wall is deduced. With reference to the definition of uncertainty, position uncertainty and momentum uncertainty are calculated and uncertainty relation of one dimensional infinite wall is deduced.Correct understanding uncertainty relation is discussed.

Theoretical Proof of de Broglie's Wave Function

Sheng Qin

This paper, based on the "Unified Theory of Forces," rigorously proves the formula of de Broglie's wave function. This helps us better understand the following important issues: 1) Theoretically prove and understand the essence of de Broglie's wave function; 2) Prove that when the particle's momentum P is determined, the greater the mass of the particle, the more concentrated its wave function distribution, and the weaker the interference effect; 3) Correct the spatial distribution of the wave function of free particles, proving that the wave function of free particles is strictly constrained within a finite spatial range, which is consistent with the facts we observe.
