Abstract

We show that by introducing the two-mode correlated Holstein–Primakoff transformation the correlated spin coherent state can be identified as a two-mode correlated binomial state. This fact can be used to describe populations on the three levels of an assembly of identical atoms.

Some Remarks on the Binomial States

Hong-Yi Fan

Using the Holstein–Primakoff boson realization of spin operators we can identify the binomial state with a particular spin coherent state. In so doing some properties of spin coherent states can be derived by simply using the binomial state. The displaced binomial state is introduced and its completeness relation is examined. That the concept of the binomial state can be extended to two-mode case is pointed out.

Connection of a type ofq-deformed binomial state withq-spin coherent states

Fan Hong-Yi, Sicong Jing

Using the q analog of the Holstein-Primakoff boson realization of the su(2) generators, we show that a type of q-deformed binomial state that corresponds to the Heine distribution can be identified as an su(2${)}_{\mathit{q}}$ coherent state. This fact is a q extension of the fact that the ordinary binomial state is a particular su(2) coherent state when the Holstein-Primakoff transformation is employed.

Two-Parameter Correlated Negative Binomial State in Two-Mode Fock Space

Hong-Yi Fan, Xiao‐Yin Pan, Bo-zhan Chen

A kind of two-parameter correlated negative binomial state is constructed and analysed from the point of view of quantum optics theory in two-mode Fock space. By choosing a suitable two-mode correlated Holstein-Primakoff-analogue transformation, the state can be identified as a type of correlated SU (1, 1) coherent state. The possible physical uses of the state are also pointed out.

Holstein-Primakoff theory for many-body systems

Lawrence R. Mead, N. Papanicolaou

We discuss the relationship between generalized coherent states and suitable extensions of the Holstein-Primakoff theory of quantum spin systems, illustrating the common origin of a variety of semiclassical approximation schemes encountered in many-body theory.

Spin wave contribution to entanglement in Heisenberg models

Employing the Holstein–Primakoff transformation, we obtain an approximate description of both the ground state entanglement and the entanglement dynamics in a spin system in terms of spin waves. As an example, we apply the method to a two-dimensional spin system.

Excited atomic coherent states

A.‐S. F. Obada, G. M. Abd Al-Kader

The excited atomic coherent (EAC) states are introduced and some of their statistical properties are discussed. When the Holstein-Primakoff transformations are used then these states become intermediate states interpolating between Fock and displaced Fock states. A generation scheme is discussed. The quasi-probability distribution functions (QDF) for these states are investigated. The Pegg-Barnett phase distribution of these states is studied.
