Abstract

We investigate the generation of a multibody Dicke state in a coupled cavity system subject to environmental noise. Based on quantum feedback control, cavity decay may play a constructive role in obtaining the intended state. The required interaction time need not be accurately controlled. In addition, the feedback operations are only applied to a single atom in one cavity during the whole evolution process, and it is not necessary to change the control strategy as the number of atoms increases. Thus, our proposal can exploit the core advantage of coupled cavities to implement a scalable control scheme for preparing multibody entanglement.

Dissipative preparation of three-atom entanglement state via quantum feedback control

Two schemes are presented for generating steady three-atom Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger and W states in a strongly dissipative cavity via quantum feedback control. The quantum feedback control is only applied to a single atom based on quantum-jump detection to improve the fidelity of the target state. Thus, cavity decay plays a key role in obtaining the target state. The required interaction time need not be accurately controlled.

Dissipative stabilization of quantum-feedback-based multipartite entanglement with Rydberg atoms

Xiao‐Qiang Shao, Jin-Hui Wu, X. X. Yi

A quantum-feedback-based scheme is proposed for generating multipartite entanglements of Rydberg atoms in a dissipative optical cavity. The Rydberg blockade mechanism efficiently prevents double excitations of the system, which is further exploited to speed up the stabilization of an entangled state with a single Rydberg state excitation. The corresponding feedback operations are greatly simplified, since only one regular atom needs to be controlled during the whole process, irrespective of the number of particles. The form of the entangled state is also adjustable via regulating the Rabi frequencies of driving fields. Moreover, a relatively long lifetime of the high-lying Rydberg level guarantees a high fidelity in a realistic situation.

Dissipative preparation of a tripartite singlet state in coupled arrays of cavities via quantum feedback control

Xiao‐Qiang Shao, Zhihai Wang, H. D. Liu +1 more

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme for dissipative preparation of a tripartite entangled state with atoms separately trapped in an array of three coupled cavities. The combination of coherent driving fields and quantum-jump-based feedback control will drive the system into a nonequilibrium steady state, which has a nearly perfect overlap with the genuine three-atom singlet state. Different control strategies are investigated and the corresponding optimal parameters are confirmed. Moreover, the fidelity of the target state is insensitive to detection inefficiencies, and it exceeds 90% for a wide range of decoherence parameters as long as the single-atom cooperativity parameter $C\ensuremath{\equiv}{g}^{2}/(\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\kappa})>350$.

Preparation of three-dimensional entanglement for distant atoms in coupled cavities via atomic spontaneous emission and cavity decay

Shi-Lei Su, Xiao-Qiang Shao, Hong-Fu Wang +1 more

We propose a dissipative scheme to prepare a three-dimensional entangled state for two atoms trapped in separate coupled cavities. Our work shows that both atomic spontaneous emission and cavity decay, which are two typical obstacles in unitary-dynamics-based schemes, are no longer detrimental, but necessary for three-dimensional entangled state preparation without specifying initial state and controlling the evolution time precisely. Final numerical simulation with one group of experimental parameters indicates that the performance of our scheme could be better than the unitary-dynamics-based scheme.

Deterministic generation of symmetric multi‐qubit Dicke states: an application of quantum feedback control

Jiahua Wei, Bo Qi, Hong‐Yi Dai +2 more

In this study, the authors explore how to deterministically generate symmetric multi‐qubit Dicke states such as symmetric W‐states, from arbitrary initial states in a cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) system with the aid of measurement‐based quantum feedback control. The concrete implementation procedures of the feedback strategy, which is constructed in the form of only two constant modes, are presented in detail. In addition, the feasibility of the control scheme in preparing symmetric multi‐qubit Dicke states is explicitly demonstrated by theoretical studies and numerical simulations.

Dissipative preparation of a steady three-dimensional entangled state via quantum-jump-based feedback

Li Chen, Hong‐Fu Wang, Shou Zhang

A robust and scalable scheme to generate a steady three-dimensional entangled state for a V-type atom and a Λ-type atom trapped in a strongly dissipative bimodal cavity is proposed by direct feedback control based on quantum-jump detection. The robustness of this scheme reflects in the insensitivity to detection inefficiencies and the strong ability against the parameter fluctuations in the feedback, driving, and coupling strengths. The influence of atomic spontaneous emission can be suppressed by using the local feedback control. The scalability is ensured that N -dimensional entangled states of two atoms can be deterministically generated.
