We introduce the normalized even and odd binomial states which interpolate between the even and odd number states and even and odd coherent states, respectively. The squeezing and antibunching properties for these new states are examined.
New states of electromagnetic field, i.e. even and odd negative binomial states are introduced here. These states interpolate between the even (odd) coherent states and the even (odd) quasi-thermal states. Various statistical properties of these states such as the mean photon number, second-order coherence function, normal squeezing are calculated. The Wigner function for these states are also discussed. These results may be useful for carrying out systematic study of the non-classical properties of `Schrödinger cat states' as one moves from even (odd) coherent state to even (odd) quasi-thermal state.
In the present paper we introduce a nonlinear binomial state (the state which interpolates between the nonlinear coherent and number states). The main investigation concentrates on the statistical properties for such a state where we consider the squeezing phenomenon by examining the variation in the quadrature variances for both normal and amplitude-squared squeezing. Examinations for the quasi-probability distribution functions ( W -Wigner and Q -functions) are also given for both diagonal and off diagonal terms. The quadrature distribution and the phase distribution as well as the phase variances are discussed. Moreover, we give in detail a generation scheme for such state.
