Synthesis of reversible logic quantum circuits

Guangjun Xie

The significance and progress of reversible logic synthesis of quantum circuits are analyzed.Several methods of synthesis of a reversible circuit are presented, including the transformation based algorithm, the exhaustion method, the RM expansion method, and the method based on group theory.Their characteristics, synthesis rules, strong and weak points are analyzed. The further development of the existing methods and the research on new solutions and new arithmetics are discussed.

Reuse method for quantum circuit synthesis

Cyril Allouche, Marc Baboulin, Goubault de Brugière, Timothée +1 more

The algebraic decomposition of a unitary operator is a key operation in the synthesis of quantum circuits. If most methods factorize the matrix into products, there exists a method that allows to reuse already existing optimized circuits to implement linear combinations of them. This paper presents an attempt to extend this method to a general framework of circuit synthesis. The method needs to find suitable groups for the implementation of new quantum circuits. We identify key points necessary for the construction of a comprehensive method and we test potential group candidates.

Quantum circuit synthesis using classes of GF(3) reversible fast spectral transforms

Anas N. Al‐Rabadi

Novel quantum circuit synthesis, using reversible Davio expansions, is introduced. The new method uses two planes to synthesize the quantum circuits: (1) a reversible butterfly circuit plane; and (2) a plane of quantum gates to perform additions and multiplications. Since the reduction of power consumption is a major requirement for circuit design of future technologies, such as in quantum circuits, the main features of several future technologies must include reversibility, and thus the new synthesis method, using reversible butterfly circuits, can play an important role in the synthesis of circuits that consume minimal power.
