Abstract

An efficient scheme is proposed to implement a quantum cloning machine in separate cavities based on a hybrid interaction between electron-spin systems placed in the cavities and an optical coherent pulse. The coefficient of the output state for the present cloning machine is just the direct product of two trigonometric functions, which ensures that different types of quantum cloning machine can be achieved readily in the same framework by appropriately adjusting the rotated angles. The present scheme can implement optimal one-to-two symmetric (asymmetric) universal quantum cloning, optimal symmetric (asymmetric) phase-covariant cloning, optimal symmetric (asymmetric) real-state cloning, optimal one-to-three symmetric economical real-state cloning, and optimal symmetric cloning of qubits given by an arbitrary axisymmetric distribution. In addition, photon loss of the qubus beams during the transmission and decoherence effects caused by such a photon loss are investigated.

We present a scheme to realize a special quantum cloning machine in separate cavities. The quantum cloning machine can copy the quantum information from a photon pulse to two distant atoms. Choosing the different parameters, the method can perform optimal symmetric (asymmetric) universal quantum cloning and optimal symmetric (asymmetric) phase-covariant cloning.

Realization of optimal symmetric universal and phase-covariant quantum cloning with quantum dot spins in cavity QED

We present a scheme to implement a special quantum cloning machine with quantum dot spins in cavity QED. The quantum cloning machine copies the information from a photon to other two distant quantum dots trapped in cavities with the help of a single-photon pulse. Choosing the different parameters, the scheme can implement optimal symmetric 1 → 2 universal, optimal symmetric 1 → 2 phase-covariant and optimal symmetric economical 1 → 3 phase-covariant quantum cloning machines. The present scheme is more economical in saving resource compared with previous schemes.

Realization of Optimal Universal and Phase-Covariant Quantum Machines via Input-Output Cavities

We present a scheme to realize a special quantum cloning machine via input-output cavities. The cloning machine can copy information from one atom to another distant atom. Choosing different parameters, the method can perform optimal symmetric (asymmetric) universal quantum cloning and optimal symmetric (asymmetric) phase-covariant cloning. Compared to previous schemes, our scheme is more insensitive to actual environmental noise and can get higher fidelity in a current cavity quantum electrodynamics system with an entangled state acting as a quantum channel than a single-photon pulse.

Scheme for implementing the optimal quantum cloning via long-range off-resonant Raman coupling

Jing-Ji Wen, Kyu-Hwang Yeon, Hong‐Fu Wang +1 more

We propose a physical scheme to implement the optimal 1 → 2 quantum cloning via long-range off-resonant Raman coupling for distant atoms trapped in separate cavities connected by optical fibers. We show that, if the single-qubit rotation angles are choosen appropriately, the optimal symmetric (asymmetric) universal quantum cloning and optimal symmetric (asymmetric) phase-covariant cloning can be effectively realized. The scheme is insensitive to cavity decay, fiber loss, and atomic spontaneous emission because the effective long-distance interaction induced by long-range off-resonant Raman coupling is mediated by the vacuum fields of the fiber and cavity and because the total system evolves in the decoherence-free subspace in which neither of the subsystems is excited.

OPTICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE OPTIMAL UNIVERSAL AND PHASE-COVARIANT QUANTUM CLONING MACHINES

Liu Ye, Xue‐Ke Song, JIE YANG +2 more

Quantum cloning relates to the security of quantum computation and quantum communication. In this paper, firstly we propose a feasible unified scheme to implement optimal 1 → 2 universal, 1 → 2 asymmetric and symmetric phase-covariant cloning, and 1 → 2 economical phase-covariant quantum cloning machines only via a beam splitter. Then 1 → 3 economical phase-covariant quantum cloning machines also can be realized by adding another beam splitter in context of linear optics. The scheme is based on the interference of two photons on a beam splitter with different splitting ratios for vertical and horizontal polarization components. It is shown that under certain condition, the scheme is feasible by current experimental technology.

Realization of the Unified Quantum Cloning Machine Based on cavity QED

Xue Li, Ren Yi-Ming, Nian-Quan Jiang

Based on cavity QED, we first propose the unified scheme to implement the 1→2 optimal universal quantum cloning machine for arbitrary input state, the asymmetric 1→2 phase-covariant cloning and the 1→3 optimal asymmetric economical phase-covariant quantum cloning machine for the equatorial input state. During the cloning process, due to atoms interacting with a highly detuned cavity mode, thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and thermal field.
