Dynamics of dipolar Atom-Molecular BEC in a double well potential: Effect of atom-molecular coherent coupling

Krishna Rai Dastidar, Moumita Gupta

In the present work we have studied the dynamics of dipolar atom-molecular Bose Einstein Condensates coupled via Feshbach Resonance in a double well potential. We have numerically solved four coupled GP like equations, two for left well and two for right well for this atom molecular coupled system. Our numerical results show that both the long-range dipole-dipole interaction (chosen to be positive) and the coherent coupling interaction (which is positive for bosons) facilitate the transmission of atoms and molecules from left well to the right well when the population in the right well dominates over that in the left well and is trapped for a period of time. Whereas in absence of any one of these interactions probability of transient transmission decreases. However in absence of both the interactions (dipole-dipole and coherent coupling) i.e. when only the repulsive contact interaction is present, it leads to self trapping in the left well for a period of time. It is also shown that the signature of coherent coupling between atoms and molecules on the density distribution of atoms in the double well potential is present both in absence and presence of dipole-dipole interaction.

Nonlinear dynamical properties of susceptibility of a spinor Bose-Einstein condensate with dipole-dipole interaction in a double-well potential

Xiao-Fei Zang, Li Ju-Ping, Lei Tan +1 more

Based on mean-field theory and single spatial mode approximation,we study the nonlinear dynamical properties of the susceptibility of total spin F=1 Bose-Einstein condensate with dipole-dipole interaction in a double-well potential. For certain initial states,we find that the susceptibility oscillation appears when λA+2λd=0. When λA+2λd≠0, the dynamical behavior of the system shows both oscillation and self-trapping of susceptibility.

Quantum phases and dynamics of dipolar spin-1 ferromagnetic Bose–Einstein condensates with spin–orbit coupling in a double-well potential

Jinguo Hu, Qingbo Wang, Xianghua Su +2 more

We consider a spin-1 ferromagnetic Bose–Einstein condensate with Rashba spin–orbit coupling (SOC) and dipole–dipole interaction (DDI) in a double-well potential. For the nonrotating case, the ground state of the system is obtained by using the imaginary time propagation method, and a ground-state phase diagram is given with respect to the SOC strength and the DDI strength. It is shown that the nonrotating system sustains rich exotic ground-state phases including the ox-horn phase with hidden vortices and antivortices, density droplet phase with vortex–antivortex pairs, modulated stripe phase with vortex–antivortex chains, checkerboard phase with visible vortex–antivortex chains and hidden vortex–antivortex pairs, and the triangular vortex–antivortex lattice phase. For the rotating case, the dynamics of the system is investigated by using a phenomenological dissipation model. The effects of SOC, DDI and rotation on the unique dynamic behaviors of the rotating system and the final steady-state structures are revealed and analyzed. In particular, the rotating system supports fascinating novel spin textures and skyrmion excitations, and experiences a series of topological structure transitions such as the transitions from an interlaced skyrmion–antiskyrmion lattice pair to a skyrmion–meron lattice pair and then to a meron lattice pair.
