Abstract

In this paper, we present analytic solutions of the Feynman propagator with the Rosen–Morse potential. To this end, an approximation of the centrifugal potential for any l state is used and nonlinear space–time transformations in the radial path integral are applied. A transformation formula that relates the original path integral to the Green function of a new quantum soluble system is derived. Explicit expressions of the bound state energy spectra and the eigenfunctions are obtained and compared to those of Schrödinger formalism. The Eckart potential is also treated as a special case.

Arbitrary l-state solutions of the Feynman propagator for the Rosen-Morse Potential with a centrifugal term approximation

Ahmed Diaf, Mohammed Hachama

We present analytic solutions of the Feynman propagator with the Rosen-Morse potential. To do that, an approximation of the centrifugal potential is used and nonlinear space-time transformations are applied. A relation between the original path integral and the Green function of a new quantum soluble system is derived. Explicit expressions of the bound state energy spectra and the eigenfunctions are obtained and compared to those of Schrodinger formalism.

Arbitrary ℓ-state solutions of the Feynman propagator with the Deng-Fan molecular potential

Ahmed Diaf

The bound state solutions of the Feynman propagator with the rotating Deng- Fan molecular potential are presented approximately. An approximation of the centrifugal potential is used and nonlinear space-time transformations are applied. A relation between the original path integral and the Green function of a new quantum soluble system is derived. The energy spectrum and the normalized eigenfunctions are both obtained for the application of this technique to the Deng-Fan molecular potential. Our results are in very good agreement with those found by using numerical and other methods.

Some remarks concerning the centrifugal term approximation

Fabiana Julio Ferreira, V. B. Bezerra

We generalize the Pekeris approximation for the centrifugal term potential, l(l+1)r2, and use this to obtain the solutions of the radial Schrödinger equation for the arbitrary angular quantum number, l, of the Hulthén potential. We also obtain the expressions for the bound state energies corresponding to this potential and calculate their values for different states and compare with other results presented in the literature. We also consider some models of physical potentials, namely, the Eckart potential, the Poschl-Teller potentials, the Rosen-Morse potential, the Woods-Saxon potential, and the Manning-Rosen potential. Thus, following straightforward the example corresponding to the Hulthén potential, we show what the radial solutions and the energy spectra for these potentials are.

Analytical solution of the Feynman Kernel for general exponential-type potentials

Hadjer Bakhti, Ahmed Diaf, Mohammed Hachama

Abstract This paper presents an analytical path-integral treatment of the ℓ -states of an exponential-type potential. We propose a generalization of the Pekeris approximation of the centrifugal term adapted to deformed potentials. To obtain solutions of the radial Feynman Kernel for arbitrary angular number, we perform a nontrivial change of variable accompanied by a local time rescaling. Using Euler angles and the isomorphism between S 3 and SU (2), we convert the radial path integral into a maniable one. Analytical expressions of the energy spectrum and the normalized ℓ -state eigenfunctions are derived from the Green function. Several potentials are obtained as special cases of the general exponential-type potential. Thus, their eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are deduced straightforwardly. Numerical results show that our technique improves the state-of-the-art.

Corrected non-relativistic bound state solutions in D-dimensional Euclidean space for the Hua potential

A. Khodja, M. Ferdjaoui

In this work, we present a rigorous and complete non-relativistic treatment of the problem of a diatomic molecule which moves under the Hua potential in a D-dimensional Euclidean space. The radial Green’s function associated with this potential is constructed within the framework of the Feynman path integral. Different cases of this potential which are distinguished by the values of the deformation parameter q are considered separately. For [Formula: see text] q < 1 and r ∈ ] r0, +∞[, we adopt an appropriate Pekeris-type approximation for the centrifugal potential term to obtain the approximate spectrum of bound states lD ≠ 0. Some numerical results of the energy levels of certain diatomic molecules are calculated by using the correct minimum value of the deformation parameter q given by [Formula: see text]. For q < 0 or [Formula: see text], the problem is solvable only in a three-dimensional space. In both cases, the energy quantization condition is a transcendental equation that can be solved numerically. In the limit [Formula: see text], the energy spectrum and the corresponding wave functions of the radial Morse potential are regained.

l-states solutions for the q-deformed Scarf potential with path integrals formulation

Ahmed Diaf, Mohammed Hachama, M M’hamed Ezzine

Abstract In this paper, we solve the Feynman Kernel for the q-deformed hyperbolic Scarf potential for any ℓ -states. We propose an accurate generalization of the Pekeris approximation of the centrifugal term adapted to deformed potentials which allows to transform our potential to a solvable shifted modified Pöschl-Teller one. Analytical expressions of the energy spectrum and the normalized ℓ -state eigenfunctions are derived from the Green function. We evaluate and compare our results to the literature. Furthermore, we apply our method in chemical physics to derive the spectrum of some diatomic molecules. We obtained good results compared to state-of-the-art competing analytical and numerical methods.
