Abstract

A report is given of some of the principal properties of the stimulated emission due to the 4 F 3/2 → 4 I 13/2 transitions is Nd 3+ ions in SrMoO 4 , PbMoO 4 , LiLa(MoO 4 ) 2 , LiGd(MoO 4 ) 2 , NaLa(MoO 4 ) 2 , and NaLa(WO 4 ) 2 crystals at 77 and 300°K. For three of these crystals the stimulated transitions are identified with the crystal splitting schemes of interacting multiplets.

Investigation of the stimulated radiation emitted by Nd3+ions in CaSc2O4crystals

Stimulated emission from Nd 3+ ions in a crystal of CaSc 2 O 4 was observed at 77 and 300°K. The emission was in the form of lines due to two transitions 4 F 3/2 – 4 I 11/2 and 4 F 3/2 – 4 I 13/2 with low excitation thresholds. Some spectroscopic parameters of this new laser medium were determined.
