Abstract

A deniable authentication protocol enables an intended receiver to identify the source of a given message, but the receiver cannot prove the source of a given message to any third party. It is very useful in some particular applications such as electronic voting, online negotiation and online shopping. However, many related protocols are lack of formal security proof which is very important for cryptographic protocol design. In this paper, we present a certificateless deniable authentication protocol. Our protocol is based on certificateless cryptography, which can solve the public key certificate management problem of public key infrastructure (PKI)-based cryptography and the key escrow problem of identity-based cryptography. Our protocol does not need the pairing operation which is the most time-consuming. In addition, our protocol can admit formal security proof in the random oracle model and resist key compromise impersonation (KCI) attack. Compared with the existing deniable authentication protocols, our protocol can be well applied in electronic voting system.

A novel certificateless deniable authentication protocol

Deniable authenticate is a different and attractive authenticate mechanism compared with the traditional authentication. It allows the appointed receiver to identify the identity of the sender, but not to prove the source of a given message to a third party even if the appointed receiver is willing to reveal its private key. Certificateless public key cryptography can solve both the public key certificate management problem of public key infrastructure-based cryptography and the key escrow problem of identity-based cryptography. In this paper, we first define a security model for certificateless deniable authentication protocols. Then we propose a non-interactive certificateless deniable authentication protocol. In addition, we prove its security in the random oracle model. Our protocol can be applied in many actual application scenarios, such as electronic voting, electronic tendering, and online shopping.

An Efficient Identity-Based Deniable Authenticated Encryption Scheme

Weifeng Wu, Fagen Li

Deniable authentication protocol allows a sender to deny his/her involvement after the protocol run and a receiver can identify the true source of a given message.Meanwhile, the receiver has no ability to convince any third party of the fact that the message was sent by the specific sender. However, most of the proposed protocols didn't achieve confidentiality of the transmitted message. But, in some special application scenarios such as e-mail system, electronic voting and Internet negotiations, not only the property of deniable authentication but also message confidentiality are needed. To settle this problem, in this paper, we present a non-interactive identity-based deniable authenticated encryption (IBDAE) scheme using pairings. We give the security model and formal proof of the presented IBDAE scheme in the random oracle model under bilinear Diffie-Hellman (BDH) assumption.

Certificateless two-party authenticated key agreement protocol based on bilinear pairings

Yuezhi Zhou

Certificateless public key cryptography has appealing features, namely it does not require the use of certificates and does not have a private key escrow feature. This paper describes a certificateless key agreement protocol based on bilinear pairings. The identity authentication in the protocol depends on a digital signature scheme. This paper proves the security of the signature scheme. The results show that in the random oracle model with the discrete logarithm assumption, the signature scheme resists existential forgeries against adaptive chosen-message attacks. The results farther show that the protocol preserves the desired security properties, including known-key security, unknown key-share resilience, perfect forward secrecy,key-compromise impersonation resilience and leakage of ephemeral private key resilience. The protocol requires much lower computation overhead than related protocols, since it uses fewer bilinear pairing operations and no modular exponentiation.

Certificateless Key Agreement Protocol

Yixiang Chen

Certificateless cryptography aims at combining the advantages of identity based and public key cryptography in order to avoid the key escrow problem inherent in the identity based cryptography and cumbersome certificate management in the traditional public key infrastructure. A new two party certificateless key agreement protocol (CL-KA) is proposed and we proved it secure in the random oracle model (ROM). Our protocol only requires each entity to compute one pairing, up to now, it turns out to be the most efficient one of all the previously known CL-KA schemes.

Constructing Secure Two-Party Authenticated Key Agreement Protocol Based on Certificateless Public Key Encryption Scheme

Mengbo Hou, Qiuliang Xu

Authenticated key agreement protocol is one of the important cryptographic primitives to ensure secure communication in an open network. Certificateless public key cryptography (CL-PKC) represents an interesting and potentially useful balance between public key cryptography based on certificates and identity-based cryptography. The topic of CL-PKC has undergone quite rapid development with schemes being proposed for encryption and signatures, while certificateless authenticated key agreement protocols are seldom discussed. In this paper, we present a secure two-party authenticated key agreement protocol based on an efficient certificateless public key encryption with pairing. Such a scheme achieves almost all of the security attributes, including known-key secrecy, perfect forward secrecy, PKG forward secrecy, key-compromise impersonation resilience, unknown key-share resilience, known session-specific temporary information security, message independence and no key control. Meanwhile, it is also practical with nice efficiency.
