Abstract

We propose a scheme to generate a 3 x 3-dimensional maximally entangled state of two particles. Two three-level atoms interact with a strongly detuned cavity so that the cavity is only virtually excited and efficient decoherence time of the cavity is greatly prolonged. Compared to other protocols, this protocol is simpler and has a higher fidelity.

Generation of an entangled state of two three-level atoms in cavity QED

Xu‐Bo Zou, K. Pahlke, Wolfgang M. Mathis

We present a scheme to generate a maximally entangled state of two three-level atoms with a nonresonant cavity by cavity-assisted collisions. Since the cavity field is only virtually excited, no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity.

A Cavity-QED Scheme for Generating Long-Lived Maximally Entangled States

Shao-Hua Xiang, Shao Bin, Kehui Song +1 more

We propose a potentially practical scheme to generate two-atom maximally entangled states by the large-detuning interaction between two three-level Λ-type atoms and coherent optical fields. Conditioned on the results of detecting cavity field, four pairs of atomic maximally entangled states with unity fidelity and high successful probability can be prepared. We also investigate the influence of the cavity dissipation on the generated entangled states and discuss the experimental feasibility of our scheme.

Fast preparation of entangled states of two qutrits in cavity or circuit QED

Xiao-Ling He, Chui‐Ping Yang

We present a scheme for generating entangled states of two qutrits, by using a 4-level system and a 3-level system coupled to a single cavity. Because of only employing resonant interactions, the entangled state can be fast created. This scheme is easy to implement in experiments since only a single cavity is needed and none of measurement, auxiliary system and identical system-cavity coupling constant is required. Furthermore, two-qutrit partially or maximally entangled states can be created by using this scheme. The proposal is quite general, which can be used to prepare entangled states of two qutrits in various physical systems, such as two natural or artificial atoms of the Λ-type or Δ-type three lowest levels, coupled to an optical or microwave cavity.

Efficient Scheme for Two-Atom Entanglement and Quantum Information Processing in Cavity QED

Shi‐Biao Zheng, Guang‐Can Guo

A scheme is proposed for the generation of two-atom maximally entangled states and realization of quantum logic gates and teleportation with cavity QED. The scheme does not require the transfer of quantum information between the atoms and cavity. In the scheme the cavity is only virtually excited and thus the requirement on the quality factor of the cavities is greatly loosened.
