Entanglement Enhancement in an XY Spin Chain

Abstract

We study evolution of entanglement in an XY-type spin channel and find that the entanglement can be enhanced by the spin channel. The parameter regions of the initial states for different numbers of sites are obtained. Furthermore, we consider a common spin environment coupling to the spin chains and find that the entanglement enhancement can also be implemented only for the chains with the odd numbers of sites.

Entanglement sudden death in a spin channel

Xiao Qiang Su, An Min Wang, XIAO SAN MA +1 more

We study the dynamic evolution of the entanglement in a spin channel with an XY-type interaction initially in an entangled state. We find that the phenomenon of entanglement sudden death (ESD) appears in the evolution of entanglement for some initial states. We calculate the entanglement and obtain the parameter regions of disentanglement for the chains with several numbers of sites. The influence of the presence of one common spin environment is also discussed.

Disentanglement of Two Qubits Coupled to an XY Spin Chain at Finite Temperature

Nie Jing, Lincheng Wang, Yi Xue-Xi

The disentanglement evolution of bipartite spin- 1 / 2 system coupled to a common surrounding XY chain in transverse fields at nonzero temperature is studied in this letter. The dynamical process of the entanglement is numerically and analytically investigated. We find that thermal effects can enhance disentanglement if the entangled initial state of the central spins does not in the decoherence free space. The critical phenomenon of quantum phase transitions reflected in the disentanglement can be washed out by the thermal effect eventually.

Effect of quantum phase transition in the disentanglement of three spins coupled to an XY spin chain

Haifu Ma

Recently, along with the development of quantum information, quantum entanglemant became a hot topic of people. Quantum entanglemant is one of the most amazing phenomenon in quantum mechanics that is totally different from classical physics. However, system would interact with environment in the practical quantum information process. The entanglement would be broken. In this paper, we study the disentanglement evolution of three spin qubits in an XY spin-chain environment. The dynamical process of the disentanglement is investigated. We found the exact expression of the coherence factor. We discuss the coherence factor and the parameters, and then we illustrate that the disentanglement of central spins is best enhanced by the quantum critical behavior of the environmental spin chain. Furthermore, a scaling rule is obtained.

Disentanglement from spin environment: Role of multisite interaction

W. W. Cheng, Jun‐Ming Liu

The dynamical entanglement of two spin-qubits coupled to an $\mathit{XY}$ spin-chain with a three-site interaction environment is studied. The dynamical process of disentanglement is numerically and analytically investigated. In the strong-coupling region, the three-site interaction can dramatically accelerate the decay of the entanglement between the two spin-qubits. However, in the weak-coupling region, the role of this interaction in the process of disentanglement depends on the strength of the three-site interaction; for example, in some specific intervals, this interaction can remarkably delay the process of disentanglement.

Disentanglement of two qubits coupled to an XY spin chain: Role of quantum phase transition

Zi-Gang Yuan, Ping Zhang, Shu‐Shen Li

We study the disentanglement evolution of two spin qubits which interact with a general $XY$ spin-chain environment. The dynamical process of the disentanglement is numerically and analytically investigated in the vicinity of a quantum phase transition (QPT) of the spin chain in both weak and strong coupling cases. We find that the disentanglement of the two spin qubits may be greatly enhanced by the quantum critical behavior of the environmental spin chain. We give a detailed analysis to facilitate the understanding of the QPT-enhanced decaying behavior of the coherence factor. Furthermore, the scaling behavior in the disentanglement dynamics is also revealed and analyzed.

ENTANGLEMENT IN A 3-SPIN HEISENBERG-XY CHAIN WITH NEAREST-NEIGHBOR INTERACTIONS, SIMULATED IN AN NMR QUANTUM SIMULATOR

The evolution of entanglement in a 3-spin chain with nearest-neighbor Heisenberg-XY interactions for different initial states is investigated here. In an NMR experimental implementation, we generate multipartite entangled states starting from initial separable pseudo-pure states by simulating nearest-neighbor XY interactions in a 3-spin linear chain of nuclear spin qubits. For simulating XY interactions, we follow algebraic method of Zhang et al. [Phys. Rev. A72 (2005) 012331]. Bell state between end qubits has been generated by using only the unitary evolution of the XY Hamiltonian. For generating W-state and GHZ-state a single qubit rotation is applied on second and all the three qubits, respectively after the unitary evolution of the XY Hamiltonian.
