Representations, operations, and applications of switching circuits in the reversible and quantum spaces

Anas N. Al‐Rabadi

This paper reviews recent developments in the use of reversible synthesis techniques in the reversible and quantum logic circuit design of binary and multiple valued switching functions. In particular, this paper reviews the specific developments and various uses of spectral transforms and functional expansions, group theory, and cellular automata in the reversible logic synthesis of digital functions.

Multiple-Valued Logic For Optoelectronics

George Abraham

Recent advances in optical bistability in a variety of materials and devices offer the potential for high speed operation over extended ranges of wavelength and temperature. The advantages of optoelec-tronic devices and multiple-valued logic are combined in various multistable solid-state device techniques, of which negative resistance multistability is most compatible with utilization of bistable optoelec-tronic devices. Additional stable states result from negative resistance interactions and facilitate implementation of variable radix analog and digital applications. Needed characteristics of bistable optical devices are outlined for compatibility with multiple-valued logic implementation. Multiple-valued optical logic offers synergistic potential for improved performance.

Low cost realization of square and square multiplication operations using toffoli gates

Jitesh Kumar Meena, Chotu Lal, Hitesh Gupta +1 more

Binary number system is the most basic building block of the multi-valued logic system. We realize the quantum quaternary logic using basic quantum quaternary logic gates. In this paper, we developed a square-multiplier unit with the help of square operation. We developed also a cost evaluation technique of the square and square-multiplication operations using the normal expressions.
