Abstract

It is shown that with an accuracy to terms of the order of h/sup 2/ the diamagnetic susceptibility of interacting particles is independent of the interaction. (auth) .

A set of simple theoretical criteria was established for the occurrence of the Meissner effect in a many-electron system. The criteria are of a qualitative nature and involve only the single- and two-particle excitations of the system. (auth)

An equation set describtng single particle excitations for excitation energies which are small compared with the chemical potential of the system can be obtained by investigating the analytical properties of the Green's functions and taking into account pair correlation. The equations are valid for an arbitrary interaction law. Equations are derived which describe the excited states of a system with a finite number of particles with an accuracy to terms of the order of N/sup -//sup 1//sup ///sup 3/ It is indicated how the results can be applied to real nuclei. UNIVERSAL DIAMAGNETISM: EXACT RESULTS AND APPLICATIONS

Debnarayan Jana

Diamagnetism is a universal pheneomenon of spinless boson system at any finite temperature regardless of their interactions. We present here the exact, non-perturbative results of universal diamagnetism of charged scalar fields at any finite temperature. As an application, we study the effect of anisotropy of two coherence lengths on diamagnetic susceptibility of Cooper pairs in an arbitrary d-dimensions above the transition temperature.
