Output three-mode entanglement via coherently prepared inverted Y-type atoms

Abstract

In this paper, the output quantum correlations of three fields interacting with inverted Y-type atoms inside a three-mode cavity are investigated. By numerically calculating the stationary noise spectra of the fields, we show that it is possible to generate the genuine tripartite continuous variable entanglement outside the cavity by coherently preparing the atoms in a superposition of the upper excited state and two ground states initially. Our numerical results demonstrate that both zero frequency entanglement and sideband frequency entanglement can be obtained under different initial coherent conditions. In addition, we investigate the thermal fluctuation effects on the quantum entanglement. It is found out that the entanglement occurring in a high frequency regime is more robust against thermal noise than the zero frequency entanglement, which may be useful for quantum communication.

Entanglement via atomic coherence induced by two strong classical fields

Xin‐You Lü, Pei Huang, Wen‐Xing Yang +1 more

Based on the standard criteria [P. van Loock and A. Furusawa, Phys. Rev. A 67, 052315 (2003)], we propose a scheme to achieve the fully tripartite continuous-variable (CV) entanglement in a $Y$-type atomic system driven by two strong classical fields. By numerically simulating the dynamics of system, we show that the generation of entanglement does not depend intensively on the initial condition of cavity field and the time for which the cavity modes remain entangled can be prolonged via enhancing the intensities of classical fields in our scheme. Moreover, our numerical results also show that a tripartite entanglement amplifier can be realized in the present scheme. The present research provides an efficient approach to achieve fully tripartite CV entangled state even when the three entangled modes have different frequencies and initial states, which may be useful for the progress of quantum information networks with many nodes.

Generation of W-type Entangled Coherent States of Three-cavity Field by Raman Interaction

Ma Song-She

A scheme was proposed to generate the W-type entangled coherent states of three-cavity fields, after comparing the differences between the discrete-variable quantum information and the continuous-variable quantum information and taking into account that coherent states were presently of practical use and readily available. The scheme was based on the degenerate Raman interaction of a Λ-type three-level atom with a single-mode field. Three identical cavities were in coherent states and three identical atoms shared a W-type entangled state initially. Let the three atoms interact with the three cavity fields respectively, selected a proper interaction time and detected the three atoms after exiting from their respective cavity. Then the three-cavity fields were projected onto a W-type entangled coherent states. During the atom-field interaction the atoms have no probability of being populated in the upper level, then the atomic spontaneous emissions could be neglected. Therefore, the coherence of the system might be better maintained. Based on current cavity quantum electrodynamics technique, the scheme could be realized experimentally. The W-type entangled coherent states generated was expected to be useful in the continuous-variable quantum information processing. The scheme was generalized to prepare the W-type entangled coherent states of n-cavity fields (n〉3).

Quadripartite entanglement with injected atomic coherence

Xi-Dong Wang, Fei Wang, Xiao Guang Zhu

Abstract We propose a scheme to generate quadripartite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger entanglement by coherently preparing the five-level K -type atoms in a superposition initially. The conditions of initial atomic populations and atomic coherences to obtain the output genuine quadripartite entanglement are analyzed numerically in detail. It is found that good entanglement occurs when populations of the bottom levels are much more than the upper levels, or vice versa. In addition, the dependence of quantum entanglement on linear gain coefficient, cavity damping constant, and thermal fluctuation effect are also discussed. Our numerical results confirm that the quadripartite entanglement can be realized by choosing proper values of the initial atomic population, which provide convenience for experimental implementation.

Tripartite Entanglement via Microwave Driven Atomic Coherence

Jin Li-Xia, Xin‐You Lü, Peijun Song +1 more

We propose a new scheme to achieve the tripartite entanglement based on the standard criteria [ Phys. Rev. A 67 (2003) 052315 ] in a inverse-tripod atomic system. In our scheme, the atomic coherence is introduced by two microwave fields which drive the upper three levels of atom. By numerically simulating the dynamics of system, we investigate the generation and evolution of entanglement in the presence of atom and cavity decay. As a result, the present research provides an efficient approach to achieve fully tripartite entanglement with different frequencies and initial states for each entangled mode, which may have impact on the progress of multicolored multi-notes quantum information networks.

Entanglement between collective fields via atomic coherence effects

Xiu Zhang, Xiangming Hu

We explore the quantum entanglement between two collective fields via atomic coherence effects. For three-level atoms in $\mathsf{V}$ configuration driven by two applied fields on two-photon resonance, one coherent superposition of the excited states is not excited, which is the counterpart of coherent population trapping. The coherence-induced depopulation makes two cavity fields in each collection combine into a quantum-beat, i.e., equivalently, the difference mode of the two components decouples from the driven atoms. The two sum modes, when they are arranged in the four-wave mixinglike interactions, can be prepared in Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen entangled state. Correspondingly, any two individual fields from different collective modes are entangled with each other. Furthermore, the effects of thermal reservoir and laser linewidths are discussed, and a generalization is given to the case in which each quantum beat involves more than two modes.

Generation for entangled squeezed coherent states of two cavity modes A scheme is based upon three artificial three-level atoms in a doubly resonant cavity

Li-Xin Xia, Guo-Xin Xiong

we propose a scheme to produce pure and entangled squeezed coherent state. Under the strong classical driven condition, threeΣ -type artificial three-level atoms interact with a doubly resonant cavity by initially preparing the artificial atoms in certain states, successionally. It is shown that an entangled squeezed coherent state can be generated from the product state of the two cavity-mode vacuum fields.
