Title: Algorithmic Constraint Optimization for Quantum Entanglement Distribution

Jincheng Zhang

Quantum entanglement distribution across vast distances remains a significant challenge in quantum communication, demanding highly efficient and robust algorithms. This paper introduces an algorithmic constraint optimization framework for creating and maintaining entangled states, utilizing a self-optimizing approach. We propose a 'quantum blueprint' – a high-level representation of the entangled state that evolves based on feedback from local measurements, enhanced by reinforcement learning. This framework addresses a critical bottleneck – the need for continuous distribution – and introduces a fundamental shift in the approach to entanglement management. The core mechanism centers around dynamically adjusting the blueprint's parameters to minimize decoherence and maximize entanglement fidelity. This paper details the algorithm's design, implementation, and preliminary results, demonstrating its potential for significantly improving the reliability of quantum communication systems.

Highly efficient and long-lived optical quantum memory with cold atoms

Young‐Wook Cho, Geoff Campbell, Jesse L. Everett +7 more

Quantum memory is an essential element for long distance quantum communication and photonics quantum computation protocols. The practical implementation of such protocols requires an efficient quantum memory with long coherence time. Here, we report a highly efficient coherent optical memory via the gradient echo memory (GEM) technique in cold atoms. The efficiency is as high as 87% with the e−1 coherence time of 1 ms. The ability of quantum storage is verified using heterodyne tomography of small coherent states, showing that our system performs in the quantum regime.

High-dimensional entanglement for long distance quantum communication

Juan Yin, Yong Qian, Xiaoqiang Li +4 more

In this paper, we provide a scheme to generate a high-dimensional entanglement source for long distance quantum communication. We utilize a continuous wave pump laser to produce polarization-time two-body four-dimensional entangled photon pairs. Under 20 mW of pump power, we achieve 700 entangled photon pairs per second with a fidelity of 89%±3%. Compared with other known high dimension entangled sources, the developed source in the paper is easy to transmit over a long distance and its phase stability is easy to achieve. Therefore, the source is more suited for the future long distance high-dimensional quantum communication tasks and testing the quantum nonlocality, for example, long distance high dimensional quantum key distribution, experimental testing two-particle Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger theorem, implementation of two-particle quantum pseudo telepathy, etc.
