Exact monogamy constraints on entanglement of four-qubit pure states

S. Shelly Sharma

We report a set of monogamy constraints on one-tangle, two-tangles, three-tangles and four-way correlations of a general four-qubit pure state. It is found that given a two-qubit marginal $\rho$ of an $N$ qubit pure state $\left\vert \Psi_{N}\right\rangle $, the non-Hermitian matrix $\rho \widetilde{\rho}$ where $\widetilde{\rho}$ $=\left( \sigma_{y}\otimes \sigma_{y}\right) \rho^{\ast}\left( \sigma_{y}\otimes\sigma_{y}\right) $, contains information not only about the entanglement properties of the two-qubits in that state but also about the correlations of the pair of qubits with $\left( N-2\right) $ qubits in $\left\vert \Psi_{N}\right\rangle $. To extract information about tangles of a four-qubit state $\left\vert \Psi_{4}\right\rangle $, the coefficients in the characteristic polynomial of matrix $\rho\widetilde{\rho}$ are analytically expressed in terms of $2\times2$ matrices of state coefficients. A general monogamy relation satisfied by one-tangle, two-tangles, three-tangles, and residual correlations in a multiqubit state $\left\vert \Psi_{N}\right\rangle $ is also given.

Monogamy of correlations versus monogamy of entanglement

M. P. Seevinck

A fruitful way of studying physical theories is via the question whether the possible physical states and different kinds of correlations in each theory can be shared to different parties. Over the past few years it has become clear that both quantum entanglement and non-locality (i.e., correlations that violate Bell-type inequalities) have limited shareability properties and can sometimes even be monogamous. We give a self-contained review of these results and present new results on the shareability of different kinds of correlations, including local, quantum and no-signalling correlations. This includes an alternative simpler proof of the Toner-Verstraete monogamy inequality for quantum correlations, as well as a strengthening thereof. Further, the relationship between sharing non-local quantum correlations and sharing mixed entangled states is investigated, and already for the simplest case of bi-partite correlations and qubits this is shown to be non-trivial. Also, a recently proposed new interpretation of Bell’s theorem by Schumacher in terms of shareability of correlations is critically assessed. Finally, the relevance of monogamy of non-local correlations for secure quantum key distribution is pointed out, and in this regard it is stressed that not all non-local correlations are monogamous.

Hardy’s non-locality in four-qubit state

Urjjarani Patel, K. V. S. Shiv Chaitanya

Hardy’s non-locality provides a proof of the incompatibility between quantum mechanics and local realism without using Bell inequalities. While this argument has been extensively studied for two- and three-qubit systems, a detailed analysis of the four-qubit case is still lacking. In this work, we investigate Hardy’s non-locality for a four-qubit system within the standard two-setting framework. We explicitly construct the entangled state satisfying the Hardy conditions and determine the measurement settings that maximize the success probability. • We present an explicit analytical construction of a four-qubit Hardy state together with the corresponding projective measurement settings. • The maximum Hardy success probability for four qubits is found to be 0.143, exceeding the values obtained in the two- and three-qubit cases. • The resulting state is non-maximally entangled and exhibits genuine multipartite quantum correlations.

We report a set of monogamy constraints on one-tangle, two-tangles, three-tangles and four-way correlations of a general four-qubit pure state. It is found that given a two-qubit marginal ρ\rhoρ of an NNN qubit pure state $\left\vert \Psi_{N}\right\rangle $, the non-Hermitian matrix ρρ~\rho \widetilde{\rho}ρρ where ρ~\widetilde{\rho}ρ $=\left( \sigma_{y}\otimes \sigma_{y}\right) \rho^{\ast}\left( \sigma_{y}\otimes\sigma_{y}\right) $, contains information not only about the entanglement properties of the two-qubits in that state but also about the correlations of the pair of qubits with $\left( N-2\right) $ qubits in $\left\vert \Psi_{N}\right\rangle $. To extract information about tangles of a four-qubit state $\left\vert \Psi_{4}\right\rangle $, the coefficients in the characteristic polynomial of matrix ρρ~\rho\widetilde{\rho}ρρ are analytically expressed in terms of 2×22\times22×2 matrices of state coefficients. A general monogamy relation satisfied by one-tangle, two-tangles, three-tangles, and residual correlations in a multiqubit state $\left\vert \Psi_{N}\right\rangle $ is also given.
