Abstract

We have studied the non-resonance interaction between a V-type three-level atom and two-mode cavity with Kerr medium. The results show that if the detunings of the two-mode cavities are equal (δ1=δ2), when initial strength ξ of the two cavities remains unchanged and photon difference q of the two mode cavities is decreased, the non-classical coherence degree between the two mode cavities is increased; when q remains unchanged and ξ is increased, the non-classical coherence degree between the two mode cavities is decreased. When Δδ=|δ2-δ1|=0 and q and ξ remain unchanged, the non-classical coherence degree is decreased with the increase of Kerr effect, and the value of Δδ has an importance influence on the non-classical coherence degree. The results also show that when δ1=δ2, the second-order coherence degree of the cavity 1 shows g211222222>1. On the other hand, the amplitude evolution of the second-order coherence degree of two-mode cavity is decreased due to the influence of Kerr effect.

Correlation Properties of the Field in the System of Uncorrelated Two-mode Thermal Field Interacting with V-type Three-level Atom in Kerr Medium Cavity

HE Shu-fang

The correlation properties of the uncorrelated two-mode thermal field during their interaction with V-type three-level atom in the Kerr medium cavity is studied.By numerical calculation and graphic analysis, the influences of the Kerr medium, the detuning, mean photon number and coupling constant on correlation property are discussed. The result shows that;when the V-type three-level atom is interacting with initial uncorrelated two-mode thermal field, the correlation of the two-mode field will take place and the correlation intensity of the fields depends on the coupling strength, the detuning and the Kerr medium;when the two-mode thermal field interacts with nude atom symmetrically, the two-mode field is always positive correlative;with the mean photon number of one mode increasing, the correlation intensity of the field will decrease;the enhancing of Kerr medium and detuning will reduce the correlation intensity of the fields;when the two-mode thermal field interacts with nude atom nonsymmetrically, without loss of generality, supposed g1g2,the property of correlation appears alternately between correlation and anti-correlation;when the mean photon number of one mode remains unchanging and the mean photon number of the other mode increases,anti-correlation will disappear.

Statistic Properties of Photon in System of Two-mode EntangledCoherent State Interacting with a Ξ-Type Three-level Atom

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

The statistic properties of photon in the system of a two-mode entangled coherent state interacting with a Ξ-type three-level atom are investigated by solving Schrdinger equation and using numerical calculations. The effects on the statistic properties of photon induced by the degree of entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent state, the ground state probability amplitude of the atomic initial state, the detuning, the atom-field coupling constant and the mean photon number are analyzed. The results indicate that the influence of the degree of entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent state on the statistic properties of photon is small. The increasing of the ground state probability amplitude of the atomic initial state causes the center of the time evolution curve to move up distinctly. The increasing of the detuning results in the decrease of the oscillating frequency of the time evolution curve. The influences of the atom-field coupling constant and the mean photon number on the statistic properties of photon are noticeable. The correlation of the two modes of light is non-classical all the time.

Quantum Properties of Two-Mode Squeezed Vacuum Field Interacting Non-resonantly with a Λ-type Three-level Atom

Chao Dong

The influences of detuning δ and initial squeezed light_field factor r on the light squeezing and Cauchy_Schwartz inequality in the system of two_mode squeezing vacuum field interacting non_resonantly with a Λ_type three_level atom is investigated. The results show that the light field is squeezed regularly. The light squeezing level is evidently relative to r and δ. With the increase r, the nonclassical correlation properties between the two mode cavities get steady. The detuning makes the nonclassical correlation degree steady.

Statistic properties of photon in the system of a two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states field interacting with atom in Kerr medium

Fang Shu-dong, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

The statistic properties of photon in the system of a two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states field interacting with a V-type three-level atom in Kerr medium are investi- gated by solving Schr dinger equation and numerical calculations. The effects on the statistic properties of photon induced by the degree of entanglement of the two-mode odd-even en- tangled coherent states field, the coupling strength of the Kerr medium with the light field, the mean photon numbers and the ground state probability amplitude of atomic initial state are analyzed. The results indicate that the influence of the degree of entanglement of the two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states fields on the statistic properties of photon isn't noticeable. But the enhancing of Kerr effect, the decreasing of mean photon numbers and the increasing of the ground state probability amplitude of atomic initial state cause the time evolution curves to move up or down distinctly. The enhancing of Kerr effect results in the increase of the oscillating frequency of the curve and the decrease of the oscillating amplitude of the curve. When the mean photon numbers of the mode 1 remain unchanged and the mean photon numbers of the mode 2 are decreased, the oscillating amplitude of the curve is increased.

Dynamics of the interaction of an entangled atom with the non-degenerate double-photon inside a cavity filled with a Kerr-like medium

Based on the model that one of the two-entangled two-level atoms interacts with the non-degeneration two-photon cavity filled with Kerr medium, the influence of the Kerr effect on the atom and the light is studied such as the average photon numbers, the degrees of second-order coherence and the Cauchy-Schwartz inequality. After selectively detection on one of the atoms at certain particular entanglement degree,it is found that the period of the collapse and revival of the average photon numbers, the degrees of second-order coherence of the lights, and the Cauchy-Schwartz inequality are influenced evidently by the Kerr effect.

Dynamics of Kerr-like medium with two-mode intensity-dependent cavity fields

Sudha Singh, C. H. Raymond Ooi

Abstract The dynamics of an effective two-level atom coupled to two-mode intensity-dependent quantized cavity fields via a ladder process in the presence of a Kerr medium has been investigated. Eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian of the interacting system have been obtained using a unitary transformation method. The cavity field statistics and non-classical properties are investigated numerically through second-order correlation functions. The effect of detuning and the Kerr medium on the non-classical features of the atom-field state has been analyzed. We find that the presence of Kerr non-linearity enhances the non-classical correlation between the correlated beams at short time intervals and increases antibunching at short time intervals.
