A Discussion on Wave-particle Dualism from the Length and Frequency of de Broglie Wave

Xiang Qun

By inference, this paper expounds that the relation of de Broglie wave's speed, length and frequency differs from that of classical waves such as mechanical wave and electromagnenic wave, and its wavelength and frequency do not have the physical meanings described by the classical theory. The reason is that de Broglie wave is not a simple representation of the classical wave, and the meanings of particle and volatility are special in wave-particle dualism.

Nonlinear wave equation with intrinsic wave particle dualism

James J. Klein

A nonlinear wave equation[Formula: see text]derived from the sine–Gordon equation is shown to possess a variety of solutions, the most interesting of which is a solution that describes a wave packet travelling with velocity uc modulating a carrier wave travelling with velocity uc. The envelop and carrier wave speeds agree precisely with the group and phase velocities found by de Broglie for matter waves. No spreading is exhibited by the soliton, so that it behaves exactly like a particle in classical mechanics. Moreover, the classically computed energy E of the disturbance turns out to be exactly equal to the frequency ω of the carrier wave, so that the Planck relation [Formula: see text] is automatically satisfied without postulating a particle–wave dualism.

Wave Particle Dualism for Both Matter and Wave and Non-Einsteinian View of Relativity

M.O.G. Talukder, Mushfiq Ahmad

In this paper, we demonstrate the significance of Non-Einsteinian view of relativity in relation to wave model of particle and particle model of wave. To accommodate wave-particle dualism, we have considered de-Broglie’s matter wave concept and Compton Effect. The kinematics of the photon and the photon emitter particle (photon-gun) are taken into consideration. Then, we have correlated the motion related parameters of the gun with the characteristics of the photon. This provides a correlation between wave aspect of particle (matter wave) and particle aspect of wave.
