The Rabi Oscillation in Subdynamic System for Quantum Computing

Abstract

A quantum computation for the Rabi oscillation based on quantum dots in the subdynamic system is presented. The working states of the original Rabi oscillation are transformed to the eigenvectors of subdynamic system. Then the dissipation and decoherence of the system are only shown in the change of the eigenvalues as phase errors since the eigenvectors are fixed. This allows both dissipation and decoherence controlling to be easier by only correcting relevant phase errors. This method can be extended to general quantum computation systems.

Quantum evolution of a qubit state with decoherence and LFC

Chao Wang, Jian Luo

We study the Rabi oscillation of two-level system in double quantum dots, and found that the Rabi oscillation considering decoherence rate is a cycle attenuated oscillation when the qubit energy asymmetry [Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text] is the qubit energy asymmetry). The peak of Rabi oscillation alternatively changes in the case of the qubit energy asymmetry [Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text] is the qubit tunneling matrix element). Moreover, the local field correction (LFC) greatly affects the frequency of Rabi oscillation, in which the Rabi frequency changes fast with LFC increasing.

Lindblad evolution and quantum to classical transition of Rabi oscillation in single quantum dot

Ankul Prajapati, Shashwat Singh

We present Investigation of the implications of decoherence on a single quantum dot two-level system’s dynamic by using the Jaynes-Cumming model (JCM). In addition to JCM, we use generalized Lindblad time evolution method for obtaining the reduced density matrix of master system, with time-dependent coherent energy transfer between atom and cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED) field and total energy damping. Quantum to the classical transition of the master system and changes in the present amount of coherence in the system via coupling with the environment is reported by using Wigner function. The present investigation aims to numerically predict the quantum to classical shift and induced decoherence process of Rabi oscillation in a single quantum dot using the JC model. The obtained results have been explained with a different approach of entropy generation. Further, obtained result can be used for the development of third-generation semiconductor-based qubits.

Rabi Oscillations of Excitons in Single Quantum Dots

Todd H. Stievater, Xiaoqin Li, Duncan G. Steel +5 more

Transient nonlinear optical spectroscopy, performed on excitons confined to single GaAs quantum dots, shows oscillations that are analogous to Rabi oscillations in two-level atomic systems. This demonstration corresponds to a one-qubit rotation in a single quantum dot which is important for proposals using quantum dot excitons for quantum computing. The dipole moment inferred from the data is consistent with that directly obtained from linear absorption studies. The measurement extends the artificial atom model of quantum dot excitonic transitions into the strong-field limit, and makes possible full coherent optical control of the quantum state of single excitons using optical pi pulses.

Quantum computation in triangular decoherence-free subdynamic space

Bi Qiao

A formalism of quantum computing with 2000 qubits or more in decoherence-free subspaces is presented. The subspace is triangular with respect to the index related to the environment. The quantum states in the subspaces are projected states ruled by a subdynamic kinetic equation. These projected states can be used to perform general, large-scale decoherence-free quantum computing.

Decoherence and relaxation of a quantum bit in the presence of Rabi oscillations

Anatoly Yu. Smirnov

The dissipative dynamics of a quantum bit driven by a strong resonant field and interacting with a heat bath is investigated. We derive generalized Bloch equations and find modifications of the qubit's damping rates caused by Rabi oscillations. The nonequilibrium decoherence and relaxation of a phase qubit inductively coupled to a resonant tank circuit is considered as an illustration of the general results.
