Towards a Quantum Mechanical Interpretation of Homeopathy

Abstract

A quantum interpretation of the homeopathic method is presented. It is shown that provided neither the medication itself, nor the patient is observed, a net effect is expected, even at homeopathic dilutions. The temporal dilution in homeopathic exercise is explained in terms of Heisenberg's theory of energy-time indeterminacy. The results are fully compatible with thought experiments of the eminent physicist and cat specialist Erwin Schrödinger.

An Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics

Tejas A. Chaudhari

This paper gives interpretation of Quantum Mechanics (QM) by redefining the theory using 3 new postulates. The first of these postulates specifies the underlying structure that every massive fundamental particle must possess. The mass-Energy equivalence and wave nature of matter emerge as a direct consequence. The second postulate describes the quantum state of particles. Wave function, its conjugate, Born interpretation and the Energy-momentum operators can be derived from these two postulates. The third postulate describes the effect of measurement and interaction on the wave function. The equations of QM starting from Schrodinger’s equation are described. The phenomenon of Quantum entanglement and Schrodinger’s cat thought experiment are described under this interpretation. Finally, the origin of spin resulting from the first postulate is discussed.

The so-called fourth indeterminacy relation

Mario Bunge

The indeterminacy relation between time and energy, suggested by Bohr on the basis of a thought experiment, is shown not to belong to the quantum theory. It is argued that the incorporation of that formula into a theory would require a basic departure from present day physics, consisting in representing time by a suitable operator. It is suggested that the formula be dropped altogether.

3rd Edition - Theory of the Quantum Physics of Potentisation of Homeopathic Medicine

Christina Munns, Dip. Hom.

INTRODUCTION This article is written with the intention of explaining the quantum physics of the process of potentisation of a homeopathic medicine. It is proposed as a theory at present, since it has not yet been scientifically proven to be correct by undergoing experimentation in a quantum scale research laboratory. This paper represents a revised version of this theory, since new information has come to light regarding the true nature of the quantum mechanics of the succussion process. I propose that the key to understanding how homeopathic medicines operate is through the understanding of quantum mechanics. When the understanding of quantum mechanics is applied to the process of homeopathic potentisation (i..e succussion and dilution), it is apparent how a homeopathic medicine is able to become increasingly more powerful (and thus potentially more curative) the more it is succussed and diluted. Of particular importance are the dynamics of electrons within the quantum state, since it is these free-standing fundamental particles that configure themselves in increasingly larger and larger numbers with each increasing orbital number, with each subsequent succussion process. With each increase in orbital size there is a concomitant increase in the energy of the atom, which represents an increase in the level of the homeopathic potency. Dr Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), the German medical doctor who founded homeopathy, discovered that in order for a homeopathic medicine to effect a cure it needed to be increasingly potentised or made increasingly powerful. This increase in potency takes place not only through the process of serial dilution but also through the process of serial succussion. I have come to understand that it is the dynamics of succussion and dilution at the quantum scale that are the keys that open the door to the mystery of exactly how a homeopathic medicine works within an organism. This theory of the quantum physics of the potentisation process will now be explained in detail.

Patient-Practitioner-Remedy (PPR) Entanglement, Part 7: A Gyroscopic Metaphor for the Vital Force and Its Use to Illustrate Some of the Empirical Laws of Homeopathy

Lionel R. Milgrom

BACKGROUND: One of the principle obstacles to homeopathy's general acceptance has been its perceived lack of sound theoretical basis within accepted deterministic bio-medical thought. This impasse might be circumvented if instead, appeal was made to the nondeterministic concepts of the physical sciences, e.g., quantum theory and its notions of entanglement, nonlocality, and uncertainty; Weak Quantum Theory (WQT) and Patient-Practitioner-Remedy (PPR) Entanglement representing two new complementary strands of thought with the potential to create a new theoretical basis for homeopathy. OBJECTIVE: The goal of this present study was to generate a preliminary mathematical model of the action and reaction of the Vital Force to diseases and remedies within the developing contexts of WQT and PPR Entanglement, based on the metaphor of a hypothetical 'quantized' gyroscope as its physical representation. METHODS: The physics of gyroscopic motion was combined with the quantum theory describing rotating objects (without some of its imposed limitations, e.g., Planck's constant, in line with the relaxation of some of orthodox quantum theory's axioms as proposed by WQT). Thus, increase or decrease in the rate of spin of the Vital Force's hypothetical gyroscope was described in terms of quantized 'shift operators' constructed mathematically from the known 'complementarity' of a remedy's primary and secondary symptoms, expressed in the notation of complex numbers. Ultimately, this generates a hypothetical 'wave function' for the Vital Force. RESULTS: This hypothetical 'wave function' has been used to illustrate certain empirical observations of homeopathy and conventional medicine, e.g., the biphasal action of remedies encapsulated in the Arndt-Schulz Law, Wilder's Law of Initial Value, and some of the results of homeopathic provings. CONCLUSION: This preliminary theoretical analysis suggests that perhaps these less well-known empirical observations should be reinvestigated and, if confirmed, could begin ultimately to provide a much-needed alternative to the doubleblind placebo-controlled trial as a means of investigating and testing the efficacy of homeopathy.

THE QUANTUM-MECHANICAL INTERPRETATION OF TIME

If time is substituted in the equation of motion in the Heisenberg picture the results obtained may lead to confusions if the equations are not interpreted correctly. Some examples are given.

Two-time interpretation of quantum mechanics

Yakir Aharonov, Eyal Gruss

We suggest an interpretation of quantum mechanics, inspired by the ideas of Aharonov et al. of a time-symmetric description of quantum theory. We show that a special final boundary condition for the Universe, may be consistently defined as to determine single classical-like measurement outcomes, thus solving the "measurement problem". No other deviation is made from standard quantum mechanics, and the resulting theory is deterministic (in a two-time sense) and local. Quantum mechanical probabilities are recovered in general, but are eliminated from the description of any single measurement. We call this the Two-time interpretation of quantum mechanics. We analyze ideal measurements, showing how the quantum superposition is, in effect, dynamically reduced to a single classical state via a "two-time decoherence" process. We discuss some philosophical aspects of the suggested interpretation. We also discuss weak measurements using the two-time formalism, and remark that in these measurement situations, special final boundary conditions for the Universe, might explain some unaccounted for phenomena.
