Abstract

The ternary logic system for logical ant arithmetical operations on quantum computer was proposed. Possible treatment of three logic states and it’s realization, based on nuclear magnetic resonance in Si28alloyed N717or Li36that have nuclear spin equal one was considered.

Adder on ternary base elements for a quantum computer

V. E. Zobov, D. I. Pekhterev

A circuit consisting of elementary quantum logic operators has been proposed for an adder in the ternary number system. A sequence of RF magnetic field pulses has been found for its implementation by the nuclear magnetic resonance method on a chain of quadrupole nuclei with spin I = 1. The numerical simulation of the adder operation has been performed.

Implementation of two‐qubit and three‐qubit quantum computers using liquid‐state nuclear magnetic resonance

Dorothea Golze, Maik Icker, Stefan T. A. Berger

Abstract The field of quantum computing has grown rapidly in the last years. Most realizations of quantum computers were done on liquid‐state NMR quantum computers so far. We present in a didactic approach how to build small NMR quantum computers with two and three qubits. The two‐qubit quantum computer was implemented on α‐D‐methylglucose using 13C spins, whereas the three‐qubit quantum computer was implemented on 4‐bromo‐1,1,2‐trifluoro‐1‐butene using 19F spins. We describe in detail how to initialize these systems by generating pseudo‐pure states. For initialization, we used the spatial averaging method, which has the advantage that it can be easily understood by product operators. Furthermore, the implementation of quantum logic gate operations will be presented. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Concepts Magn Reson Part A 40: 25–37, 2012.

Discrete and Continuous Systems of Logic in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

Pedro M. Aguiar, Robert Hornby, Cameron McGarry +2 more

We implement several non-binary logic systems using the spin dynamics of nuclear spins in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The NMR system is a suitable test system because of its high degree of experimental control; findings from NMR implementations are relevant for other computational platforms exploiting particles with spin, such as electrons or photons. While we do not expect the NMR system to become a practical computational device, it is uniquely useful to explore strengths and weaknesses of unconventional computational approaches, such as non-binary logic.

A low-cost realization of quantum ternary adder using muthukrishnan-stroud gate

Md. Mehedi Hasan

Ternary quantum computing technology is a promising technology for future computer systems. In any computer system, an adder circuit is an essential circuit that performs arithmetic and logic operation of the computer. So, for the ternary quantum computer system, an efficient and low-cost realization of ternary adder is very necessary. This paper introduces a novel realization of quantum ternary adder which reduces the realization cost extensively compared to the previous realization.

Multiple-Valued Quantum Nano Processor

Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu

This chapter proposes a novel quantum ternary nano-processor where each component of this nano-processor is made using qubit and qutrit to get a more powerful nano-processor. Unlike other processors, the quantum ternary nano-processor has the above features like quantum ternary control unit, quantum ternary ALU (arithmetic logic unit), quantum ternary register, buses. The main motto of quantum ternary RAM is to store and access data on a short-term basis, and it is a volatile memory. For achieving nine terms of memory, two 1-to-3 ternary quantum decoders will be needed. The quantum ternary RAM cells that are chosen do not become disabled, and their previous qubit never changes. The ternary Quantum instruction register consists of eighty-one ternary quantum AND operations. As quantum computers can implement algorithms in inherently multi-valued logic, it is a new approach to implement such a nano-processor that would be able to inherent advantages of both ternary logic systems and quantum computing logic together.
