Abstract

An analysis of the amplitude-squared squeezing is presented for the lossless anharmonic-oscillator, Jaynes-Cummings, and intensity-dependent coupling Jaynes-Cummings models using coherent and squeezed inputs. Periodic revivals of the amplitude-squared squeezing are shown to exist in the anharmonic-oscillator and intensity-dependent coupling Jaynes-Cummings models for any value of the initial average photon number n\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}. The Jaynes-Cummings model, on the other hand, displays this characteristic for small n\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} only. The effect of the squeezing angle on the amplitude-squared squeezing is studied. A comparison with the normal-order squeezing is presented.

Amplitude-squared squeezing in the multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model: Effects of the atomic coherent states and detuning

Mubeen A. Mir

An analysis of the effects of detuning and the superposition angle on amplitude-squared (AS) squeezing is presented for the one- and two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM) using coherent and squeeze inputs. In the one-photon JCM for squeezed inputs, it is shown that the degree of AS squeezing increases as the detuning increases. The two-photon JCM, on the other hand, displays this characteristic only for coherent input in a small range of values of the detuning. The superposition angle affects the degree of AS squeezing more significantly for a detuned field than for a tuned one. The behavior of AS squeezing becomes independent of the value of the superposition angle in both the models for large initial average photon number, n\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}, with any value of detuning and for large detuning with any value of n\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}.

AMPLITUDE-SQUARED SQUEEZING IN THE m-PHOTON JAYNES-CUMMINGS MODEL WITH SQUEEZED FIELD INPUT

Mubeen A. Mir, M. S. K. Razmi

Amplitude-squared (AS) squeezing has been investigated for the m-photon Jaynes-Cummings model assuming the field to be initially in the squeezed states. The role played by intensity-dependent coupling has also been discussed. It has been shown that for the large initial average photon number [Formula: see text] with odd values of m, AS squeezing revokes permanently whereas with even values it recurs periodically. As m increases the revocation is hastened and the duration of occurrence decreases. Higher values of m for the initial field in a squeezed vacuum state can make one of the quadrature permanently squeezed. The AS squeezing behavior for two initial states of the atom, i.e., ground state versus excited state is also compared.

Amplitude-squared squeezing in the two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model

Mubeen A. Mir, M. S. K. Razmi

Amplitude-squared squeezing is investigated for the two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model with the field initially in a squeezed vacuum or a more general squeezed state. For small values of the coherence parameter and large values of the squeeze parameter, the amplitude-squared variances show threefold oscillatory behavior on the long time scale. It is found that a ground-state atom (as against an excited one) leads to considerable enhancement of the input amplitude-squared squeezing. The behavior of photon number squared and its relationship to the amplitude-squared squeezing is commented upon.

Amplitude-squared squeezing in the multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model

M. H. Mahran, A.‐S. F. Obada

Amplitude-squared squeezing has been investigated for the generalized multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model. Different values for the initial photon numbers as well as different photon multiplicities have been used. The atom is taken to be in either the ground or the excited state. The relation between both amplitude-squared and normal squeezing and the phenomenon of collapse and revival has been discussed.

Light Squeezing in the Jaynes-Cummings Model with Intensity-dependent Coupling

Vladimír Bužek

We have found that in the intensity-dependent-coupling Jaynes-Cummings model with the coherent radiation field light squeezing exhibits periodical revivals. The influence of the initial states of the atom on the squeezing of light is investigated in detail.

Amplitude-squared squeezing in the multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model: Effect of phases

A.M. Abdel-Hafez, A.‐S. F. Obada

The phenomenon of amplitude-squared squeezing is investigated for the one- and two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model. The relative phase between the atomic coherent state and the coherent field state is found to affect this phenomenon with larger amounts of squeezing that can be found by changing the angles (\ensuremath{\theta}) for fixed relative phase.
