In this letter we study the local persistence of the two--dimensional Blume-- Capel Model by extension of the concept of Glauber dynamics. We verify that for any value of the ratio
α=D/J between anisotropy
D and exchange
J the persistence shows a power law behavior. In particular for
α<0 we find a persistence exponent
θl=0.2096(13), \textit{i.e.} in the Ising universality class. For
α>0 (
α=1) we observe the occurrence of blocking.
We employed Monte Carlo simulations and short-time dynamic scaling to determine the static and dynamic critical exponents for the generalized two-dimensional Blume-Capel model of spin-3/2. We showed that the critical behavior at the second-order phase-transition line between the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic phases is in the same universality class of the two-dimensional Ising model. However, at the double critical end point, which is present in the phase diagram of the model, the critical exponent beta , associated to the order parameter, is different from that of the Ising model.
We study purely dissipative relaxational dynamics in the three-dimensional Ising universality class. To this end, we simulate the improved Blume-Capel model on the simple cubic lattice by using local algorithms. We perform a finite size scaling analysis of the integrated autocorrelation time of the magnetic susceptibility in equilibrium at the critical point. We obtain z=2.0245(15) for the dynamic critical exponent. As a complement, fully magnetized configurations are suddenly quenched to the critical temperature, giving consistent results for the dynamic critical exponent. Furthermore, our estimate of z is fully consistent with recent field theoretic results.
We study the dynamics of ordering in ferromagnets via Monte Carlo simulations of the Ising model, employing the Glauber spin-flip mechanism, in space dimensions
d=2 and
3. Results for the persistence probability and the domain growth are discussed for quenches to various temperatures (
Tf) below the critical one (
Tc), from different initial temperatures
Ti≥Tc. In long time limit, for
Ti>Tc, the persistence probability exhibits power-law decay with exponents
θ≃0.22 and
≃0.18 in
d=2 and
3, respectively. For finite
Ti, the early time behavior is a different power-law whose life-time diverges and exponent decreases as
Ti→Tc. The crossover length between the two steps diverges as the equilibrium correlation length.
Ti=Tc is expected to provide a {\it{new universality class}} for which we obtain
θ≃0.035 in
d=2 and
≃0.10 in
d=3. The time dependence of the average domain size
ℓ, however, is observed to be rather insensitive to the choice of
Ti.
