Abstract

In this article, using an exactly‐solvable multiparameter exponential‐type potential we propose a unified treatment of the analytical bound—state solutions of the Schrödinger equation for exponential‐type potentials in D‐dimensions. Our proposal accepts different approximations to the centrifugal term; however, its usefulness is exemplified in the frame of the Green and Aldrich approach. This fact enables us to compare our results with specific potentials found in the literature and that are obtained here as particular cases of our proposal. That is, instead of solving a specific exponential‐type potential, by resorting each time to a specialized method, the energy spectra and wavefunctions are derived straightforward from the proposed approach. Furthermore, our proposal can be used as an alternative way in the search of solutions to new exponential‐type potentials besides that one can study different approximations to the term . © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Approximate ℓ‐bound state solutions of q‐deformed exponential‐type potentials

José Juan Peña, Jesús García‐Ravelo, Gerardo Ovando +1 more

Abstract In this work, the exactly solvable Schrödinger equation for s‐states of a class of multiparameter exponential‐type potential (E‐tP) is used to obtain the approximate ℓ ≠ 0 bound state solutions for the corresponding q‐deformed radial potentials. To deal with the effective potential, the Pekeris approximation for the centrifugal term is applied. The proposal has the advantage that, depending on the choice of the parameters involved in the E‐tP, several q‐deformed exponential potentials are obtained here as particular cases. That is, our proposition indicates that it is not necessary to use specialized methods to solve the Schrödinger equation for specific q‐deformed exponential potentials. At this regard, in order to show the usefulness of the proposed method, we consider the ℓ ≠ 0 bound state solutions of the q‐deformed Tietz, Hulthén, Manning‐Rosen, Shioberg, quadratic exponential, Wei and Hua among other potential models. Furthermore, with the example of the Hua potential we are contributing to solve the recent controversy on the energy spectra of this q‐deformed model. Moreover, in some applications considered in this work the results can be used to correct similar findings already published. Besides, the proposal is useful when considering new q‐deformed potentials with hypergeometric wavefunctions to be used in quantum chemical applications of diatomic molecules.

Bound states resulting from interaction of the non-relativistic particles with the multiparameter potential

Ahmet Taş, Ali Havare

In this study, we present the analytical solutions of bound states for the Schrödinger equation with the multiparameter potential containing the different types of physical potentials via the asymptotic iteration method by applying the Pekeris-type approximation to the centrifugal potential. For any n and l (states) quantum numbers, we derive the relation that gives the energy eigenvalues for the bound states numerically and the corresponding normalized eigenfunctions. We also plot some graphics in order to investigate effects of the multiparameter potential parameters on the energy eigenvalues. Furthermore, we compare our results with the ones obtained in previous works and it is seen that our numerical results are in good agreement with the literature.

The Analytical Solution of the Schrödinger Particle in Multiparameter Potential

Taş, Ahmet, Ali Havare

In this study, we present analytical solutions of the Schrödinger equation with the Multiparameter potential containing the different types of physical potential via the asymptotic iteration method (AIM) by applying a Pekeris-type approximation to the centrifugal potential. For any n and l (states) quantum numbers, we get the bound state energy eigenvalues numerically and the corresponding eigenfunctions.Furthermore, we compare our results with the ones obtained in previous works and it is seen that our numerical results are in good agreement with the literature.

An analytic iterative approach to solving the time‐independent Schrödinger equation

Chad E. Junkermeier, Mark K. Transtrum, Manuel Berrondo

Abstract In this article, we introduce a simple analytic method for obtaining approximate solutions of the Schrödinger equation for a wide range of potentials in one‐ and two‐dimensions. We define an operator, called the iteration operator, which will be used to solve for the lowest order state(s) of a system. The method is simple in that it does not require the computation of any integrals in order to obtain a solution. We use this method on several potentials which are well understood or even exactly solvable in order to demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of this method. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Auxiliary fields as a tool for computing analytical solutions of the Schrödinger equation

BERNARD SILVESTRE-BRAC, Claude Semay, Fabien Buisseret

We propose a new method to obtain approximate solutions for the Schrödinger equation with an arbitrary potential that possesses bound states. This method, relying on the auxiliary field technique, allows to find in many cases, analytical solutions. It offers a convenient way to study the qualitative features of the energy spectrum of bound states in any potential. In particular, we illustrate our method by solving the case of central potentials with power-law form and with logarithmic form. For these types of potentials, we propose very accurate analytical energy formulae which greatly improves the corresponding formulae that can be found in the literature.

Approximate l‐state solutions of the D‐dimensional Schrödinger equation for Manning‐Rosen potential

Sameer M. Ikhdair, R. Sever

Abstract The Schrödinger equation in D‐dimensions for the Manning‐Rosen potential with the centrifugal term is solved approximately to obtain bound states eigensolutions (eigenvalues and eigenfunctions). The Nikiforov‐Uvarov (NU) method is used in the calculations. We present numerical calculations of energy eigenvalues to two‐ and four‐dimensional systems for arbitrary quantum numbers n and l with three different values of the potential parameter α. It is shown that because of the interdimensional degeneracy of eigenvalues, we can also reproduce eigenvalues of a upper/lower dimensional system from the well‐known eigenvalues of a lower/upper dimensional system by means of the transformation (n,l,D) → (n,l ± 1,D ∓ 2). This solution reduces to the Hulthén potential case.
