Abstract

Using the closed Itô's table for the renormalized square of white noise, recently obtained by Accardi, Hida, and Kuo in Ref. 4, we consider the problem of providing necessary and sufficient conditions for the unitarity of the solutions of a certain type of quantum stochastic differential equations.

Unitarity conditions for stochastic differential equations driven by nonlinear quantum noise

Luigi Accardi, Andreas Boukas

We prove the stochastic independence of the basic integrators of the renormalized square of white noise (SWN). We use this result to deduce the unitarity conditions for stochastic differential equations driven by the SWN.

Stochastic evolutions driven by non--linear quantum noise II

Luigi Accardi, Andreas Boukas

We consider the renormalized Ito table for higher powers of white noise and, assuming that there exists a Hilbert space where these powers have an operator realization, we prove existence, uniqueness, and unitarity for stochastic equations driven by these powers.

Control of Quantum Langevin Equations

Luigi Accardi, Andreas Boukas

The problem of controlling quantum stochastic evolutions arises naturally in several different fields such as quantum chemistry, quantum information theory, quantum engineering, etc. In this paper, we apply the recently discovered closed form of the unitarity conditions for stochastic evolutions driven by the square of white noise [9] to solve this problem in the case of quadratic cost functionals (cf. (5.5) below). The optimal control is explicitly given in terms of the solution of an operator Riccati equation. Under general conditions on the system Hamiltonian part of the stochastic evolution and on the system observable to be controlled, this equation admits solutions with the required properties and they can be explicitly described.

QUANTUM STOCHASTIC DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH SQUARE OF ANNIHILATION AND CREATION PROCESSES

Un Cig Ji, Kalyan B. Sinha

We develop the quantum stochastic calculus associated with the square of annihilation and creation processes. We study the quantum stochastic integral and quantum stochastic differential equation associated with the square of annihilation and creation processes. Under a sufficient condition the solution of the quantum stochastic differential equation becomes unitary and then the unitary solution gives a unitary dilation of an evolution system of which the Hamiltonian is depending on time.

White Noise Calculus and Hamiltonian of a Quantum Stochastic Process

Wilhelm von Waldenfels

A white noise quantum stochastic calculus is developped using classical measure theory as mathematical tool. Wick's and Ito's theorems have been established. The simplest quantum stochastic differential equation has been solved, unicity and the conditions for unitarity have been proven. The Hamiltonian of the associated one parameter strongly continuous group has been calculated explicitely.
