Abstract

The work is devoted to the problem of presentation of informative parameters of photon echo signal in different hypercomplex spaces. Particular attention is directed to the polarization and time properties of photon echo, which can be useful for compression information in one optic channel. The experimental result of separating information by the polarization character are shown. The new effective scheme of coding information in technique of photon echo are discussed in detail. The considering of collection of informative parameters of photon echo signal is offered to consider in one of the isomorphic hypercomplex algebra.

Photon echo possibilities with information processing in hypercomplex space

Anatolii N. Leukhin, Ivan I. Popov

Mode of photon echo (PE) exciting is theoretically considered, when in quality the pulse-code is used a set of pulses with the different time and polarizing characteristics. It is offered to consider a combination of polarizing and peak-time characteristics of a PE signal in algebra of quaternion. A principle of information processing with quaternion representation of signals is experimentally realized.

Physical measurings and quantum control in technique of a photon echo

Ivan I. Popov, Andrey M. Gladyshev, K.Sh. Gazizov

The effect of the rotating of the photon echo polarization vector is offered for a construction of the opto-electronic current transformer. As an active medium that allows get the photon echo the vapors of molecular iodine are used. The theoretical model of the opto-electronic current transformer is discussed. The results of investigation of photon echo (PE), excited by complexly coded laser pulses in molecular Iodine vapors under action of the homogeneous longitudinal magnetic field are given in this work. The recording possibility of special information by exciting pulses on a pair of quantum levels of resonant gas (molecular Iodine vapors) in technique PE is shown experimentally. In this shown experiment the information has two by two values of two relevant features and is represented by the amplitude-time shape and direction of linear polarization vector of radiation. The possibility of using the detected features of formation PE under the action of magnetic field for development the physical principles of the quantum control and for optical information processing introduced by hypercomplex number - quaternion - is shown.

The possible applications of polarization and temporal peculiarities of long-lived stimulated photon echo in LaF3:Pr3+ were analyzed. The influence of the excited pulses polarization on time-profile of LSPE was considered. It's discussed the possibility of using time-polarization processing of information in systems of optical memory and optical echo- processors.

Polarization photon echo spectroscopy

Igor V. Yevseyev

A review of theoretical and experimental works on the polarization photon-echo spectroscopy (PPE spectroscopy) is carded out. The main attention is payed to the following advantages of the PPE spectroscopy. First, the PPE spectroscopy, free of the influence of the inhomogeneous spectral line broadening, allows to make the high precision measurements within the envelope of a inhomogeneously broadened spectral line. Second, the high resolution ability of the PPE spectroscopy, directly in the temporal field, unables to accomplish the investigations of the fast relaxation processes, when ultrashort nano- and picosecond exciting pulse are used. Third, in the PPE spectroscopy the investigated relaxation processes are not subjected to the perturbing action of the intensive laser radiation. Farther, it is necessary to note the flexibility of the PPE spectroscopy consisting in the existence of a great number of various methods used for receiving different spectroscopic information. Finally, as far as the signal intensifies of the photon echo and of its variants are proportional to the squared number of the resonant atoms (molecules), it secures the definite advantages for the PPE spectroscopy as compared to the spectroscopk methods based on the non-coherent phenomena (especially for low pressure a gas considered). The possibilities of new experiments on photon echo and its variants aimed for obtaining a detailed new spectroscopic information are discussed.
