Abstract

We propose a scheme for preparing a highly entangled six qubit genuine state [J. Phys. A40 (2007) 13407] in an ion-trap system. We evaluate the influence of lasers' small intensity fluctuation and find it is negligible in our scheme. Our scheme is feasible with the present techniques.

GENERATION OF GENUINE FIVE-QUBIT ENTANGLED STATES IN ION TRAP AND CAVITY QED

Xiu Ru Lin, Wan-Jun Su

Recently, a genuine five-qubit entangled state [Formula: see text] has been proposed by Man et al. In this paper, we present a simple scheme for generating such a state in ion trap and cavity QED, respectively. This study offers a new approach to faithful controlled teleportation of an arbitrary two-qubit state in these two systems.

Preparation of the four-qubit cluster states in cavity QED and the trapped-ion system

Zheng Xiao-Juan, Hui Xu, Mao-Fa Fang +1 more

This paper proposes a simple scheme to generate a four-atom entangled cluster state in cavity quantum electrodynamics. With the assistantce of a strong classical field the cavity is only virtually excited and no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity during the preparation for a four-atom entangled cluster state, and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. Assuming that deviation of laser intensity is 0.01 and that of simultaneity for the interaction is 0.01, it shows that the fidelity of the resulting four-atom entangled cluster state is about 0.9886. The scheme can also be used to generate a four-ion entangled cluster state in a hot trapped-ion system. Assuming that deviation of laser intensity is 0.01, it shows that the fidelity of the resulting four-ion entangled cluster state is about 0.9990. Experimental feasibility for achieving this scheme is also discussed.

Simple schemes for preparation of multipartite entangled states of trapped ions

Feng Zhong

Three experimentally feasible schemes are proposed for generating multipartite entangled states of cold trapped ions.In the first scheme,a GHZ state can be simply synthesized in a single step. The second scheme is to prepare fully symmetric W states with two steps. The third scheme describes the sequential generation of linear cluster states. In addition,a method to create a larger cluster state was also presented by fuzing the end qubits of two smaller cluster states in order to decrease the distortion caused by decoherence, which can speed up the generation of large cluster states. The above schemes involve the collective interaction between multiple ions with the vibrational ground state and a large detuned laser. Compared with previous schemes, the above schemes have four advantages.Firstly, they do not require the vibrational mode of ions as memory.Secondly, they do not need to address the ions individually.Thirdly, they are free from the effects of phase fluctuation of laser field. Finally, they need less operations.

A fast scheme for one-step preparation of a highly entangled cluster state in the ion-trap system

Ying-Qiao Zhang, Shou Zhang, Jin Xing-Ri

We propose to implement a highly entangled cluster state (HECS) with only one step based on the resonant interactions among N two-level ions and two different standing-wave lasers with a phase difference of π/2. The time for preparation of the HECS is related only to the frequency of the vibrational mode ν (i.e. t=2π/ν). We can ensure that the preparation time is short enough by setting the larger vibrational mode frequency ν to neglect the effect of the decoherence of the qubits. During the process of preparing the HECS, the heating effect of the vibrational mode can be neglected and the initial qubits need only one evolution with the time interval t. The reduced operation steps and the shorter preparation time make the present scheme more feasible in experiments.

Two Feasible Schemes for Preparing Cluster States with Ion-Trap Setup

Xin-Wen Wang, Cao Shuai, Li-Xin Xia

We present two schemes for preparing cluster states with atomic qubits in an ion-trap system. In the first scheme an auxiliary atomic level is needed. While in the second scheme an additional classical driven field is used, and the multi-ion cluster states can be generated by one step. Both the schemes are insensitive to thermal motion of the ions, all the facilities used in them are well within state of the art.
