Effect of magnetic field on energy and entanglement of an exciton in coupled quantum dots

Man Shen, Jian-Jun Liu

Using the one-dimensional effective potential method, we theoretically study the properties of an exciton in vertically coupled quantum dots (VCQDs) under the influence of an applied magnetic field. The ground state transition energies of the heavy-hole exciton are calculated in a single quantum dot and in VCQDs, respectively. Our results are in good agreement with those of experiments. In symmetrical VCQDs, the entanglement of the exciton state monotonously increases with increasing barrier width, and can even attain the value of the maximally entangled state. When the symmetry of the VCQDs is broken, the entanglement of the exciton state almost entirely breaks down under the combined influences of tunneling and the Coulomb interactions.

Quantum entanglement and teleportation in quantum dot

Li‐Guo Qin, Li-Jun Tian, Guo-Hong Yang

We study the thermal entanglement and quantum teleportation using quantum dot as a resource. We first consider entanglement of the resource, and then focus on the effects of different parameters on the teleportation fidelity under different conditions. The critical temperature of disentanglement is obtained. Based on Bell measurements in two subspaces, we find the anisotropy measurements is optimal to the isotropy arising from the entangled eigenstates of the system in the anisotropy subspace. In addition, it is shown that the anisotropy transmission fidelity is very high and stable for quantum dot as quantum channel when the parameters are adjusted. The possible applications of quantum dot are expected in the quantum teleportation.

Teleportation on a Quantum Dot Array

FERDINANDO DE PASQUALE

We present a model of quantum teleportation protocol based on a double quantum dot array. The unknown qubit is encoded using a pair of quantum dots, with one excess electron, coupled by tunneling. It is shown how to create a maximally entangled state using an adiabatically increasing Coulomb repulsion between different dot pairs. This entangled state is exploited to perform teleportation again using an adiabatic coupling between itself and the incoming unknown state. Finally, a sudden separation of Bob’s qubit allows a time evolution of Alice’s which amounts to a modified version of standard Bell measurement. A transmission over a long distance could be obtained by considering the entangled state of a chain of N coupled double quantum dots. The system is shown to be increasingly robust with N against decoherence due to phonons.
