Entanglement holographic mapping of many-body localized system by spectrum bifurcation renormalization group

Yi‐Zhuang You, Xiao-Liang Qi, Cenke Xu

We introduce the spectrum bifurcation renormalization group (SBRG) as an improved application of the excited-state real-space renormalization group (RSRG-X) for a class of qubit models. Starting from a disordered many-body Hamiltonian in the full many-body localized (MBL) phase, SBRG flows to the MBL fixed-point Hamiltonian, and generates the local integrals of motion and the matrix product state representations for all eigenstates. The method is applicable to many interacting spin and fermion models in the full MBL phase. As a Hilbert-space preserving RG, SBRG also generates an entanglement holographic mapping, which duals the MBL state to a fragmented holographic space.

Symmetry-protected entanglement renormalization

Sukhwinder Singh, Guifré Vidal

Entanglement renormalization is a real-space renormalization group (RG) transformation for quantum many-body systems. It generates the multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz (MERA), a tensor network capable of efficiently describing a large class of many-body ground states, including those of systems at a quantum critical point or with topological order. The MERA has also been proposed to be a discrete realization of the holographic principle of string theory. Here we propose the use of symmetric tensors as a mechanism to build a symmetry-protected RG flow, and discuss two important applications of this construction. First, we argue that symmetry-protected entanglement renormalization produces the proper structure of RG fixed points, namely, a fixed-point for each symmetry-protected phase. Second, in the context of holography, we show that by using symmetric tensors, a global symmetry at the boundary becomes a local symmetry in the bulk, thus explicitly realizing in the MERA a characteristic feature of the AdS/CFT correspondence.

Linearized tensor renormalization group approach for quantum many-body lattice systems

Gang Su

We review the development of numerical renormalization group methods, including Wilson's numerical renormalization group,White's density matrix renormalization group, and several recent rapidly developing tensor network state-based algorithms.Among these, particular emphasis is laid on the linearized tensor renormalization group method, which was recently proposed to accurately calculate the thermodynamic properties of quantum many-body lattice systems, and which may have broad applications in both one-and two-dimensional quantum systems.
