A New Physical Interpretation of the de Broglie Wave

Dragan Popovic

This paper proposes a dynamical interpretation of the de Broglie wave in which the electron alternates between relatively localized and relatively delocalized propagation phases. The electron's rest mass is treated throughout as a conserved invariant. The proposal does not involve rest mass conversion. What may oscillate is the spatial configuration of the electron's quantized energy states — the way energy organizes itself around the fixed core — not the core itself. The proposal is motivated by a numerical observation: the orbital frequency and the de Broglie frequency of the electron in the hydrogen ground state are exactly equal, computed independently from classical mechanics and quantum wave theory. The equality itself is not new. What is proposed is its physical meaning: one complete localization–delocalization cycle occurs per orbital period. The interpretation is consistent with the Heisenberg uncertainty principle and the Schrödinger equation. Several observations from established physics are discussed as consistent with the proposed framework. The proposal is presented as an interpretive extension of standard quantum mechanics, not a replacement.

The combination of de Broglie's Harmony of the Phases and Mie's theory of gravity results in a Principle of Equivalence for Quantum Gravity

de Haas, E. P. J.

Under a Lorentz-transformation, Mie's 1912 gravitational mass behaves identical as de Broglie's 1923 clock-like frequency. The same goes for Mie's inertial mass and de Broglie's wave-like frequency. This allows the interpretation of de Broglie's "Harmony of the Phases" as a "Principle of Equivalence" for Quantum Gravity. Thus, the particle-wave duality can be given a realist interpretation. The "Mie-de Broglie" interpretation suggests a correction of Hamilton's variational principle in the quantum domain. The equivalence of the masses can be seen as the classical "limit" of the quantum equivalence of the phases.

A New de Broglie-Bohm Interpretation and the Stability of the Hydrogen Atom

Kazuyasu Shigemoto

We proposed a new de Broglie-Bohm interpretation, applied it to various cases, and derived the particle dynamics of de Broglie-Bohm mechanics from the wave dynamics of quantum mechanics.De Broglie-Bohm dynamics, constructed from the ground state of quantum mechanics, is often consistent with classical dynamics. Even when the two differ, the discrepancy remains within the range of minute quantum effects. Consequently, for many quantum mechanical ground states, quantum mechanics and de Broglie-Bohm mechanics, linked by the de Broglie-Bohm interpretation, are consistent and free of contradictions.
