CRITICAL TEMPERATURE CURVES FOR THE GENERALIZED MIXED SPIN MODEL

WANG FU-GAO, HU JIA-ZHEN, 上海交通大学应用物理系凝聚态物理研究所,上海200030

In this paper, we propose a generalized mixed spin model on the union jack lattice. The mean field. free-fermion approximations and equiscale transformation in the same universality class method are applied to this model. The critical temperature curves obtained by different methods agree with each other quite well. We also compare the three different methods. In some special cases, the same critical points as in exactly solved models are obtained.

POUR-BRANCH CRITICAL SURFACE AND CORRESPONDING CRITICAL BEHAVIOUR FOR ISING MODEL

TANG KUN-FA, HU JIA-ZHEN, (1)上海交通大学凝聚态物理研究所; (2)上海交通大学应用物理系

Application of exact renormalisation transformation, to Ising model via equiscale transformation in the same universality class, yields a four-branch critical surface and four fixed points. In the case of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phase transitions, the results are in agreement with the known exact and the best approximate ones very satifatorily. For the supperantiferromagnetic phase transition, we propose the critical surface equation as follows —ch(h) = sh(2Kx)sh(2Ky).

CRITICAL BEHAVIOR OF THE SEMI-INFINITE MIXED SPINS (7/2, 1/2) MODEL

Hasnae Saadi, El Mostafa Jalal, A. El Antari +3 more

By the use of the Migdal–Kadanoff renormalization group technique and the mean field approximation, we have explored the critical behavior of the semi-infinite mixed spin-7/2 and spin-1/2 Blume–Capel model. As a function of the computation ratios (bulk-surface) R and Y, different phase diagrams in the bulk and on the surface are classified and determined in the (surface anisotropy, temperature) plane. We have found four types of phase diagrams characterized by ordinary, extraordinary, surface, and special phase transitions. The derivative of the free energy and the behavior of the bulk and surface magnetizations are plotted at very low temperatures proving the existence of first-order transitions for both the surface and bulk. We have also presented the related fixed points and the critical exponents manifesting several classes of universality at the surface. Otherwise, a comparison was made between the two methods as well as with previous studies.
