Abstract

Abstract We present the solutions of the ro‐vibrational motion of a diatomic molecule with a spatially dependent mass by solving the Dirac equation with position‐dependent mass for repulsive vector $V(r)$ and attractive scalar $S(r)$ q‐deformed Morse potential for any $\kappa$ value, within the framework of Pekeris approximation of the spin‐orbitcoupling term. The relativistic energy spectra are obtained using theNikiforov‐Uvarov method and the two‐component spinor wavefunctions are obtained in terms of the Laguerre polynomials. It is found that there exist only negative energy states for bound states, and the energy values for a fixed value of $n_r$ increase with decrease in $\kappa$ . © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Relativistic energies for the q-deformed Scarf potential with Feynman path integrals formulation

Ahmed Diaf, Mohammed Hachama

Abstract In this paper, the Dirac equation with the q-deformed Scarf potential for spin symmetry is solved for an arbitrary spin-orbit quantum number κ, in the presence of Coulomb-like potential tensor. Using the Feynman path integral formalism and the Pekeris approximation of the centrifugal term, we obtain the bound state energy eigenvalues and the associated spinor of the Dirac particle. Furthermore, this method is used to determine the spectrum of two diatomic molecules Li 2(61Π u ) and KRb(B −1Π). The obtained results are compared to the experimental and numerical ones.

Approximate $\kappa$ -state solutions of the Dirac equation in spatially dependent mass for the Eckart potential including the Yukawa tensor interaction

Sameer M. Ikhdair

We investigate the analytical approximation to arbitrary -state solutions of the Dirac equation with the position-dependent mass particle in the Eckart potential including the Yukawa tensor interaction in the framework of a parametric Nikiforov–Uvarov method. By taking a proper approximation to deal with the centrifugal term, the analytical relativistic energy eigenvalues and the corresponding normalized two-spinor components of the wave function are obtained in closed form. The relativistic and non-relativistic bound state solutions for some special cases, such as the Hulthén potential and the generalized Morse potential, are easily obtained from our general solution.

On the exact solutions of the Dirac equation with a novel angle-dependent potential

Cüneyt Berkdemir, Yan-Fu Cheng

We study the problem of the relativistic motion of a 1/2-spin particle in an exactly solvable potential, which consists of the harmonic oscillator potential plus a novel angle-dependent potential, The analytic bound state solutions of the Dirac equation for this potential are obtained by using the Nikiforov–Uvarov method. The wave functions of the radial and angle-dependent parts of the Dirac equation are derived in the form of the Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials. The contribution of the angle-dependent potential to the relativistic energy spectra is discussed under the condition that the scalar potential is equal to or minus the vector potential.

Bound State Solutions of Schrodinger Equation for Generalized Morse Potential with Position-Dependent Mass

Ankara

The effective mass one-dimensional Schrdinger equation for the generalized Morse potential is solved by using Nikiforov-Uvarov method. Energy eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions are computed analytically. The results are a/so reduced to the constant mass case. Energy eigenvalues are computed numerically for some diatomic molecules. They are in agreement with the ones obtained before.

Corrected non-relativistic bound state solutions in D-dimensional Euclidean space for the Hua potential

A. Khodja, M. Ferdjaoui

In this work, we present a rigorous and complete non-relativistic treatment of the problem of a diatomic molecule which moves under the Hua potential in a D-dimensional Euclidean space. The radial Green’s function associated with this potential is constructed within the framework of the Feynman path integral. Different cases of this potential which are distinguished by the values of the deformation parameter q are considered separately. For [Formula: see text] q < 1 and r ∈ ] r0, +∞[, we adopt an appropriate Pekeris-type approximation for the centrifugal potential term to obtain the approximate spectrum of bound states lD ≠ 0. Some numerical results of the energy levels of certain diatomic molecules are calculated by using the correct minimum value of the deformation parameter q given by [Formula: see text]. For q < 0 or [Formula: see text], the problem is solvable only in a three-dimensional space. In both cases, the energy quantization condition is a transcendental equation that can be solved numerically. In the limit [Formula: see text], the energy spectrum and the corresponding wave functions of the radial Morse potential are regained.
