Bethe-ansatz solution of the t-J model

Abstract

The t-J model for strongly correlated electron systems is mapped onto a model with a generalised permutation operator. For a specific value of the ratio t/J this model in one space dimension is shown to be equivalent to that of Lai (1974) and can be solved by the Bethe ansatz. This special point corresponds to supersymmetric invariance of the Hamiltonian.

The supersymmetric t-J model in one dimension

Sarben Sarkar

The t-J model (related to the strong-correlation limit of the Hubbard model) is shown to be soluble in one dimension using the Bethe ansatz. The solution holds only when the Hamiltonian is supersymmetric. The ground state in the presence of holes is found to be gapless, and to have no magnetization.

Solution of a supersymmetric model of correlated electrons

Marcio Jose Martins, P B Ramos

We consider the exact solution of a model of correlated electrons based on the superalgebra Osp(2|2). The corresponding Bethe ansatz equations have an interesting form. We derive an expression for the ground-state energy at half filling. We also present the eigenvalue of the transfer matrix commuting with the Hamiltonian.

Thermodynamics of the degenerate supersymmetric t-J model in one dimension

P. Schlottmann

The one-dimensional SU(N)-invariant t-J model consists of electrons with N spin components on a lattice with nearest-neighbour hopping and spin exchange J. The multiple occupancy of the lattice sites is excluded. The model is integrable at the supersymmetric point, t=J. The discrete Bethe ansatz equations are analysed and the solutions are classified according to the string hypothesis. The thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations are derived for arbitrary band filling in terms of thermodynamic energy potentials for the classes of eigenstates of the Hamiltonian. These equations are solved in limiting cases, e.g., S=1/2, the ground state and the high-temperature limit. If the charge fluctuations are suppressed the Bethe ansatz equations map onto those of the SU(N)-invariant Heisenberg chain.

Generalized t-j model

Shao-Ming Fei, Rui-Hong Yue

By parametrizing the t-j model we present a new electron correlation model with one free parameter. In one dimension, this model is of SU q (1 mod 2) symmetry. The energy spectra are shown to be modulated by the free parameter in the model. The solution and symmetric structures of the Hilbert space, as well as the Bethe ansatz approach, are discussed for special cases.

A New Solution of the Supersymmetric TJ Model by Means of the Quantum Inverse Scattering Method

Fabian H. L. Eßler, V. E. Korepin

We construct the enveloping fundamental spin model of the t-J hamiltonian using the Quantum Inverse Scattering Method (QISM), and present all three possible Algebraic Bethe Ansätze. Two of the solutions have been previously obtained in the framework of Coordinate Space Bethe Ansatz by Sutherland and by Schlottmann and Lai, whereas the third solution is new. The formulation of the model in terms of the QISM enables us to derive explicit expressions for higher conservation laws.
