Using the Gutzwiller approximation and Bogoliubov-de Gennes(BdG) theory, the local density of states around many nonmagnetic impurities in cuprate superconductors are studied under the t-J-U model. Results show that away from the impurities, the local density of state presents typical V shape asymmetric curve;zero-energy peaks are induced around the impurities, and the superconducting coherence peaks are strongly suppressed. With the increasing of the distance among the impurities, the superconducting coherence peaks around the impurities are less suppressed, and the intensity of the zero-energy peaks decrease.
We consider the screening of an impurity moment in a d-wave superconductor under the influence of a Zeeman magnetic field. Using the numerical renormalization group technique, we investigate the resulting pseudogap Kondo problem, in particular the field-induced crossover behavior in the vicinity of the zero-field boundary quantum phase transition. The impurity spectral function and the resulting changes in the local host density of states are calculated, giving specific predictions for high-field scanning tunneling microscopy measurements on impurity-doped cuprates.
Using a dynamical cluster quantum Monte Carlo approximation, we investigate the effect of local disorder on the stability of
d-wave superconductivity including the effect of electronic correlations in both particle-particle and particle-hole channels. With increasing impurity potential, we find an initial rise of the critical temperature due to an enhancement of antiferromagnetic spin correlations, followed by a decrease of
Tc due to scattering from impurity-induced moments and ordinary pair breaking. We discuss the weak initial dependence of
Tc on impurity concentration found in comparison to experiments on cuprates.
